JUAN MINUTE: A Great Year For Jessa Zaragoza

It was this year that I met Jessa Zaragoza for the first time for the launch of her album under GMA Records, and she showed that she is indeed a down-to-earth star with a great voice and bubbly personality. And this year has been a great year for her and her husband Dingdong Avanzado as they both enjoy the projects and successes that came in their way.

Being a mother, singer, actress are some of the qualities of Jessa that make her a sought-after personality even after their hiatus for some time. Now that they are back in the limelight, things are going into place and sometimes going beyond their expectations.

And even both of them are busy with their own projects they do find time for each other and their daughter. She also maintained to stay fit and flawless (same goes with Dingdong who celebrated his 25th anniversary in showbiz) which still makes them very recognizable to the public even after years has passed.

Now let's look back on the things that Jessa Zaragosa did this year...

Jessa Looks Back at an Eventful Year

Despite a calendar full of showbiz commitments, Jessa Zaragoza still finds time to pause, reflect and count the many blessings she reaped throughout the past year.

Jessa stands out as one of the few rare talents who have successfully crossed over from a flourising singing career to a bigger challenge as a dramatic actress. But juding from the windfall of projects she has bagged lately, she seems to have made a mark as a reliable favorite for TV dramas.

After all acting comes naturally to the porcelain-skinned beauty whose big, expressive eyes alone can convey a large range of emotions. She can seduce you with her come-hither stare, or make you tremble in fear with her menacing squint.

Jessa kicked-off the year as part of the GMA-7 fans=tasy series, 'Kokak'. She is currently doing the Bea Binene-Jake Vargas starrer, 'Cielo de Angelina,' where she plays a role of a politician for the first time. The series if GMA first morning soap.

But it's not all heavy drama for the Phenomenal Diva. She also gets to unleash her comic side in the GMA-7 Sunday primetime comedy show, 'Pepito Manaloto,' alongside veteran comedians Michael V, Nova Villa and Manilyn Reynes.

In spite of her hectic taping schedule, Jessa hasn't completely turned back on singing, and managed to release her latest studio effort under GMA Records, "Pag Wala Na Ang Ulan" around mid-year. The title track and "Nasaan" made its to the 95.5 Pinoy Hits Countdown #1, while another cut, "Buti Na Lang" has been chosen as the theme song of GMA-7's latest Koreanovela, "Princess Man' which started airing November 19.

Her mentoe, German Moreno, proudly shared that Jessa will soon be joining the ranks of the country's illustrous starts whose names have been immortalized in Eastwood City's renowned Walk of Fame. She will recieve her star this coming December 1.

She has also been tapped to endorse Fortune Life Insurance, where she also sings the TV commercial's thems song "Pangako", composed by Jimmy Antiporda.

Thankfully she still managed to take time off her hectic, year-long taping schedule to do some concerts abroad, including sold-out stints in New Jersey, Australia  Italy, UK and Indonesia. Another show is slated for November 30 in Dubai.

Shobiz commitments aside, nothing gives Jessa as musch fullfillment playing her role as wife to Dingdong Avanzado (who recently celebrated his 25th anniversary in showbiz), and as mom to nine-year old daughter Jayda, who inherited her parents' gift of song, and is bound to carve her own niche in the years to come.

Jessa is managed by ALV Talent Circuit.
