Archdiocesan Youth Month 2012 Digital Artwork Competition

September brings us to the excitement of the coming Christmas season, but there is also something to celebrate this month with the Archdiocese of Manila Commission on Youth with the Archdiocesan Youth Month 2012!

The month long celebration brings together the youth and challenges them. They can now also express themselves with the Digital Artwork Competition for this Youth Month.

With the theme: " A Celebration of Christian Faith" (Any of the 12 Articles of our Catholic Faith - CREDO) "...They called the church together and reported what God had dome with them and how he had opened the door of faith..." (Acts 14:27)

The Social Media Prayer By Father Stephen Cuyos, MSC

The First Catholic Social Media Summit happened this weekend and I was sad because I was not a part of it due to financial constraints. However, I am very happy for the church to be more aware of the power of the internet and the social media in shaping the minds and hearts of the youth and society today. This actually inspired me to be part of the Social Media Group of the Archdiocese of Manila Commission on Youth.  Though frustrated not able to attend the event, I see that there was an increase of interest from different sectors and dioceses all over the country to utilize this resource that is really a great help if used properly. I just saw a SOCIAL MEDIA PRAYER by Father Stephen Cuyos, MSC who is also what you can call a "techie priest". Here is the prayer that is worth sharing to friends and family and further understand the value of this technology for the good of us all.

KA-TALK 47: Media in Mission - An Invitation

We are inviting the youth and youth at heart to attend the first Ka-Talk Series this year. Ka-talk 47: Media in Mission.

The forum features the role of the new media (internet and social media) in shaping the youth's mind and faith as it is state in Pope Benedict XVI message "Make good use of your pressence in the digital world".

This event will happen on March 24, 2012 at Letran College Gymnasium, Colegio de San Juan de Letran from 1-5 PM. This also involves the youth in the Archdiocese of Manila under the Archdiocesan Commission on Youth that is actively using the internet to blog and use them for social media. I Auditioned For TV MARIA

Yesterday was the 26th anniversary of the People Power Revolution and also the birthday of my sister who lives in Japan. And this is also the day I went to audition for a TV station. It may not be the like the mainstream television networks, TV Maria is a television pioneer in the Philippines as the first Catholic TV which started in 2006. Though one may think that its all prayers and masses seen all day, TV Maria shows alternative and very value-oriented shows that indeed fit for family viewing.

I was invited to audition for its upcoming shows involving music, youth and kids. So far everything went well and I hope to make the cut. It would be an honor to be part of the revolutionary project that will have a great impact in not just only entertaining, informing but also FORMING values and relationships that makes us a better nation. I do think its time to have more smart shows to help us think to be better. TV Maria is available in majot cable providers like Global Destiny, Sky Cable and Dream TV.
