Christian Bale scored a well-deserved Best Supporting Actor Oscar nomination for his staggering performance as quirky fund manager Mike Burry, in Paramount Pictures' critically acclaimed cautionary tale, “The Big Short.”

The film itself received five Academy Award nominations, including Best Picture, Best Director (Adam McKay), Best Adapted Screenplay and Best Film Editing.

After traversing  mountains, crossing the Red Sea and dodging spears in the most anticipated Biblical epic of the year,   “Exodus: Gods and Kings,” Christian Bale walked the Red Carpet in the recently concluded premiere night in London along with director Ridley Scott and cast of the movie.

In photos and at the premiere are Joel Edgerton, Maria Valverde, Golshifteh Farahani, Ben Kingsley and Andrew Tarbet.  “Exodus: Gods and Kings” by acclaimed director Ridley Scott (“Gladiator,” “Prometheus”) is the story of one man’s daring courage to take on the might of an empire.  Using state of the art visual effects and 3D immersion, Scott brings new life to the story of the defiant leader Moses (Christian Bale) as he rises up against the Egyptian Pharaoh Ramses (Joel Edgerton), setting 400,000 slaves on a monumental journey of escape from Egypt and its terrifying cycle of deadly plagues.

As more filmmakers, producers and actors collaborate to revitalize stories from the bestselling book of all time all over the world translated into all languages - critics and movie audience find themselves in a great divide on each and every (filmed) interpretation of a story lifted from the Bible. 

Despite questions circling Ridley Scott’s upcoming “Exodus: Gods and Kings,”  Rotten Tomatoes’ Audience Score of the film reveals a high 97% rating in terms of anticipation from  those very eager to watch the film.  Likewise, early reviews reflect some of the critics’ positive take such that from Variety’s Justin Chang who says that “What’s remarkable about Scott’s genuinely imposing Old Testament psychodrama is the degree to which he succeeds in conjuring a mighty and momentous spectacle — one that, for sheer astonishment, rivals any of the lavish visions of ancient times the director has given us — while turning his own skepticism into a potent source of moral and dramatic conflict.”

Warner Bros. Pictures has assembled an impressive roster of stars for “Jungle Book: Origins,” its new big-screen, 3D adaptation of Rudyard Kipling’s classic The Jungle Book, marking the feature film directorial debut of Andy Serkis.

The action adventure, which will blend motion capture and live action, will be released worldwide beginning October 21, 2016. The announcement was made today by Greg Silverman, President, Creative Development and Worldwide Production, and Sue Kroll, President, Worldwide Marketing and International Distribution, Warner Bros. Pictures.
