Vhong Dreams of Becoming The Next Kevin Kosme

Justin (Vhong Navarro) dreams up and plays out his favorite character, Kevin Cosme—one of Comedy King Dolphy’s signature roles, as this week’s episode of “Toda Max” takes on its own version of “Home Along Da Riles”.

Justin had recently been watching “Home Along Da Riles” on Jeepney TV in tribute to the Comedy King. Finding himself completely engrossed in the show, he eventually drifts off, dreaming—and in a strange turn of events, he comes to realize that he has actually turned into Kevin Kosme.

Meanwhile, Lady G (Pokwang) is in contact with a negotiator, Miss Abad (Kaye Abad), who brings along her faithful right hand (Vandolph) to Beverly Gils. Miss Abad proposes to increase productivity in the area by turning it into a commercial space. However, for that to happen, Beverly Gils would have to be demolished.

Why Jolina Magdangal broke into tears on the set of ‘Personalan’

Last Thursday, July 12, despite her leg injury Jolina Magdangal showed up at the studio of the GMA News TV public affairs show Personalan to tape two episodes for the following week.  Jolina hosted the said episodes with a splint on her left leg which was injured three days earlier when she slipped off a stage riser during a technical rehearsal for Party Pilipinas’ July 8 episode.
Towards the end of the second episode, Jolina was asked by the staff of the show to read a short spiel in honor of the late Comedy King Dolphy.   Although Jolina successfully delivered her spiels without becoming too emotional, when the cameras stopped rolling, her emotions broke loose.

Blah Blah Blogs: Paalam Pidol

by Freely Abrigo
Indeed it really hurts my heart to see the passing of the King of Comedy. Dolphy or Rodolfo Vera Quizon has been part of so many generations with unparalleled comedy which gave him the title of "King of Comedy".  He made hundreds of movies, TV shows and countless fans that have gained him respect and love. As a kid of the 90s, my memories of him is his role as Kevin Cosme of Home Along the Riles.

Though I have not seen all of his film (mostly clips from his movies in the 50s), he is considered a "National Treasure"  for his contributions in the industry. Alongside FPJ, he shaped Philippine cinema with his roles from almost all profession and even gender. He is also the sole actor who was able to have a Darna movie.

MUSIC LYF: Zia Quizon - Bloggers' Night and CD Giveaway!

I had another brief  encounter with the rising  music sensation Zia Quizon at in Metrowalk. I have loved her songs since I got a copy of her CD. Her hit debut single "Ako na lang" have been playing in radio stations and also in Music Channels in the Philippines. I also loved the songs in her self titled album like "Dear Lonely" which had its music video also  out and also making waves in the hit charts today. Coming from a family of celebrities, the daughter of the Divine Diva Zsazsa Padilla and the King of Comedy Doplhy, and the sister of multi-talented  Karylle Tatlonghari. I was able to first hear about her songs in her launch in Teatrino. And since I already had her CD, let me treat fans of Zia Quizon with a CD giveaway after the jump!
She has her own style and tone in singing which makes her stand out. With a cool jazzy feel of her voice makes one fall in love with the song and the melody. Other songs in the album includes "Smile", "So Much In Love", "Mambobola" and "Simple Girl".  And actually she is still in school while promoting the album and also performing weekly on ASAP 2012.
