Emily Blunt Will Not Suffer in Silence in "A Quiet Place Part II"

Emily Blunt, who garnered a Screen Actors Guild Award among other accolades for her searing performance as Evelyn Abbott in 2018’s A Quiet Place, now returns for the eagerly anticipated sequel, A Quiet Place Part II (in Philippine cinemas November 10).

[Watch the film’s Final Trailer at https://youtu.be/gBvwZOp-AAw]

Although Blunt was admittedly skeptical about a sequel, she couldn’t help but become smitten with where things were going.  “Emily wasn’t necessarily going be a part of the second one,” writer and director John Krasinski reveals. “She had said, ‘You’re not doing this one with me so don’t try to pitch me,’ but then she asked, ‘Well, what’s your idea?’ And after I told her, she said, ‘I’ll definitely be doing the second one!’ It just felt so organic to us both.”

Blockbuster Sequel "A Quiet Place Part II" Storms Into PH Theaters Nov 10

A Quiet Place Part II is the definitive kind of movie that theaters were made for. John Krasinski who wrote and directed the film says “It’s very exciting to be able to come back to the theaters and to see A Quiet Place Part II because it was always designed for a theatrical experience.”

Lead star Emily Blunt couldn’t agree more.  “It’s such an inspired sequel,” she says.  “It’s a horror movie, you want to watch it in the dark.  Jump and leap and gasp together.  I’m really excited for you to see it.”

"A Quiet Place Part II": John Krasinski on the Genre-Defining, Unexpected New Chapter

In 2018, John Krasinski’s A Quiet Place turned silence into the building blocks of fright and forged from the horror-thriller genre a modern fable of family love, communication and survival. With its mix of relentless tension and layered storytelling about a tight-knit clan fending off an immensely destructive, sound-attuned alien force, the film became a startling hit and cultural phenomenon.

Now comes the story’s unnerving second chapter, which picks up right where the Abbott family left off. But A Quiet Place Part II also heads to new places as events hurtle past the fragile sanctuary of the “sand path” the Abbotts created in order to prevail in a reality where even a single footstep could be deadly—and into a world of infinite peril beyond. From the opening moments of the film, the family is on the run, beyond any semblance of security and searching for refuge in a town gone mad with fear. In a time when empathy and connection have nearly vanished from the world, the Abbotts strive not only to protect each other from the threat of sound but to find hope in the terrifying hush around them.

5 Things to Remember About "A Quiet Place Part II"

With barely two weeks before Paramount Pictures’ A Quiet Place Part II arrives in the Philippines on March 18, audiences are well advised to know the following five things about the eagerly anticipated sequel.

A Family Reunited

Following the huge success of the first film, A Quiet Place Part II reunites the filmmaking partnership that spawned it, John Krasinski again writing and directing his real-life wife Emily Blunt. Despite the first film ending on a cliff-hanger, a sequel was never planned but the idea of how people were surviving and how the world could go on were questions that Krasinski could not shake. “I never wanted to go outside the farm on the first one, but it was always in the back of my head. And then to see the reaction from the first movie, and that people had that same question, was really inspiring to me. Because it was something that I felt very much I wanted to explore” says Krasinski. This led to the spark of an idea that took him on a journey to create the expanded world in A Quiet Place Part II.

Emily Blunt Shines as the Iconic Nanny in "Mary Poppins Returns" (Opens Jan 8)

For the role of the iconic, proper, peculiar and enigmatic nanny Mary Poppins in Mary Poppins Returns, the filmmakers had only one person in mind: Emily Blunt.

“Emily is a brilliant actress who is funny, warm, quick-witted and deeply-feeling. She can also really sing and dance,” says the film’s director, Rob Marshall, who had worked with Blunt on Into the Woods. “I get what she does, I get her humor…we’re very simpatico. She created her own version of the character in a very distinctive and special way, which focused more on the eccentric Mary Poppins from the books. I don’t know who else could have played the role besides her, to be quite honest.”

"Mary Poppins Returns" Vies for Golden Globe, Screen Actors Guild Awards

"I delighted in playing every aspect of this extraordinary and iconic character,” Blunt said in a statement after learning of her Golden Globes nomination. “The entire experience working on it was spellbinding and that's largely to do with the incomparable Rob Marshall who took on this project with great love, depth and courage in his heart. I'm thrilled for Lin and for the recognition for our beautiful score as well as the film as a whole. Thank you again."

Mary Poppins Returns - Musical and Whimsical Start Of The Year

It's 2019 and we are very excited for the great line up of movies that will shown in theaters and for the new set of movies that will make this year epic, and what better way to start is with a anticipated and feel good movie by Walt Disney, Mary Poppins Returns. A long-awaited sequel of the 1964 movie Mary Poppins which was starred by Julie Andrews, amd Dick Van Dyke.

Mary Poppins back then was a breakthrough in the film industry with an amazing integration of live action plus animation which defined the film. This has been replicated with an updated technological features of this generation. Since its has been over 50 years since the first movie, some of the original cast has also made some cameos in the film like Dick Van Dyke and Karen Dotrice.

Stepping in the shoes of Julie Andrews as the magical nanny Mary Poppins, Emily Blunt shows her elegance, grace, and playfulness with the role. Given that the movie will have a lot of dancing, singing, and interactions, she really embraces the character which is nostalgia to the viewers who have watched the first one.

The sound of silence has never been louder as Paramount Pictures' surprise hit A Quiet Place climbed up to the No. 1 spot in Philippine box-office for its 2nd week of release, earning more than its opening weekend. This according to Columbia Pictures, the film's local distributor.

For the period April 18-22, the suspense thriller about a family trying to survive in a world with aliens that hunt based on sound, grossed a thunderous P79.5 million, almost doubling-up its opening weekend gross of P41.7 million. A rare feat that only happens because of fantastic world of mouth and repeat viewings.

Acclaimed Thriller "A Quiet Place" Grosses P41.7-M in 5 Days

Paramount Pictures' A Quiet Place posted a five-day opening weekend gross of P41.7 million in the Philppines, becoming the studio's second most successful launch for a horror-thriller, after 2013's World War Z.

Arriving with some of the year's most positive reviews, the Emily Blunt-starrer directed by her real-life husband, John Krasinski, has riveted local film critics with some already calling it “the year's best horror-thriller.”

American reviewers have also likened it's success to that of the Oscar-winning thriller Get Out, and there is already talks of possible Academy Awards nominations next year.

Emily Blunt's Unwavering Maternal Force in "A Quiet Place"

Emily Blunt (Looper, Edge of Tomorrow, Sicario) takes on the role of a post-apocalyptic wife and mother, in Paramount Pictures' new horror thriller A Quiet Place (now playing in Philippine cinemas).

For most of us, silence can be a welcome break from our busy lifestyles. But in the case of the Abbott family, silence is survival. When creatures that hunt by sound threaten their lives, this family of four must learn to communicate with each other and fight for their lives while living in complete and utter silence; one wrong move and the life of a loved one is put at risk – because if they hear you, they hunt you!

A Quiet Place - Scary Silence That Makes You Mad In Fear

Preapare for ultimate silence.

Dystopian films may have been too saturated these days but there is still room for one more which was is shockingly silent.  A Quiet Place is a film by John Krasinski who also stars in the film along with his wife Emily Blunt. And it was shockingly quiet inside the cinema when I watched it 2 times.

Set in future where sound sensitive creatures caused rampage and the Abbot family strives to survive in their remote home. The setting may not be global like other films but it takes silence to a maddening level with sudden music scores that will induce a heart attack.

With silence also means less dialogues for the actors which will test their acting prowess in may situations. Millicent Simmonds, who plays the daughter,  is actually a deaf-mute actress who helped the cast in learning the American Sign Language. Despite less spoken words, it gives way to more action and suspense that the film actually delivered.
