Let’s talk about Gender: Teleperformance shares views on creating a gender-neutral workplace

Teleperformance Philippines continues its advocacy of promoting inclusive workplaces through its recent participation in the University of the Philippines College of Mass Communication (UP CMC) Department of Communication Research and International Association of Business Communicators (IABC) Philippines’ webinar “Let’s Talk About Gender.” 

Marilyn Romero-Ventenilla, Senior Director for Communication and Marketing of Teleperformance Philippines, joined various experts from the communication industry and academe and gave a talk on Genderlect, or different ways of communicating between men and women, as well as on Teleperformance Philippines’ commitment of being a Great Place to Work® for all, and tips on how to create and foster a gender-smart working environment.

It has been a while since I've made a post for personal opinion in Blah Blah Blogs. It was quire timely that the hot topic of legalization of gay marriage in the United States via its Supreme Court made it official throughout the whole nation. Though there has been several states that made it legal prior to this decision. It has become a big buzz throughout the world with big brands and key personalities show support and celebration to the triumph of equality.

However, conservatives and religious sectors show dismay with the result and has condemned the ruling as very "immoral" and against the rule of nature. They are also linking that this is related to the demise of Sodom and Gomorrah. There are also warnings from them about other will follow suit like Pedophiles and "people who would also marry animals". But that would be very far as gay marriage is completely different from those concepts, like Pedophilia is a crime against minors while the other is bestiality. This again opened and divided believers on their stand and understanding of the ruling.

12 Things to Speak Up This 2012!

The year 2012 will bring a lot of challenges and opportunities that propels us as an individual and also as a nation. With technology paving ways into so many  things we can do and how we can affect the future. We have seen the power of the internet this 2011 with prominent examples like the Arab nations uprising, the mobilization for help for the victims of the Japan Earthquake and Tsunami and Typhoon Sendong.

With the public now having a stronger voice in the society and interconnected networks with social media, indeed we have the power to Speak Up. A call to action to address issues concerning the use of social media and the internet. Everyone has equal rights and equal responsibilities over the world wide web. We then list down 12 things to Speak Up this new year 2012. Therefore #iresist being part of the silent majority but an agent of change that the world needs right now.
