Eugene Domingo Parodies History in iWant's "Ang Babae Sa Septic Tank 3" Series

After satirizing the indie film industry and the mainstream rom-com movie phenomenon, the creative duo behind the critically acclaimed “Ang Babae sa Septic Tank” movies is back with another laugh-out-loud sequel that lampoons the making of a historical biopic, with Eugene Domingo reprising her lead role – a megalomaniacal and egotistical version of herself.

The latest in the popular trilogy – written by Chris Martinez and directed by Marlon Rivera – the seven-episode mockumentary series “Ang Babae sa Septic Tank: The Real Untold Story of Josephine Bracken” documents the step-by-step process in making a biopic. It starts streaming on iWant this July 17.

REEL DEAL: Barber's Tales (Mga Kwentong Barbero) Finally Will Be Shown In The Philippines!

Eugene Domingo goes into another challenging role with the latest movie from Jun Lana, Barber's Tales (Mga Kwentong Barbero) which after winning awards abroad will finally be shown here in the Philippines on August 2014. What is special about this film? Well there is indeed a long list of reasons which have earned the recognition of world.

The movie has participated in international film festivals namely 2013 Tokyo International Film Festival, 2013 Abu Dhabi Film Festival, 2014 Hong Kong International Film Festival, 2014 Undine Far East International Film Festival, and the 2014 Madrid International Film Festival. It also garnerd awards like 2013 Hong Kong Asia Film Financing Forum Best HAF Project, ARRI Award, Technicolor Award, Catapoolt Award, and 2014 Undine International Film Festival Audience Choice Crystal Mulberry Prize, and 2014 Madrid International Film Festival Nominations for Best Picture, Best Director, Best Producer and Best Actress. Eugene also won Best Actress for the 2013 Tokyo International Film Festival.

REEL DEAL: Kimmy Dora Ang Kiyemeng Prequel REVIEW

Kimmy Dora has finally reached its final film, it both sad (knowing that everyone love these twins) and happy (for "upgrading" Pinoy Comedy Films to interesting and quality movies) for the franchise which concludes the trilogy with Kimmy Dora Ang Kiyemeng Prequel. Euegene Domingo proved her versatility and charm with the chaotic yet lovable twins Kimmy and Dora Godonghae.

I have to say that the trilogy is composed of different styles of comedy with slapstick, horror-comedy, black comedy, etc. found in a scene in the movie which would cater to all audiences. It would be fitting that it ends its franchise at the MMFF, which is the biggest movie festival in the country (well, movie lovers are either compelled to or authentically love the movie). As I belong to the one who loved the first (but not have seen the second), I made it part of the limited films I'll see for MMFF.

Now back to the Godonghae twins, which have won the hearts of the viewers and the first Pinoy film that was successful in doing promotion on social media, they kept the same strategy and finds new ways to keep viewers entertained. Production value is probably the most "bongga" among entries as it made cool effects and production design. And of course it would not be complete without the suprise cameos of stars which also includes the producer Piolo Pascual.

REEL DEAL MMFF 2013: Kmmy Dora (Ang Kiyemeng Prequel)

Kimmy and Dora Go Dong Hae are set to take us back to where it all started.

In 2009, the eloquent and adamant Kimmy and the very naive yet sweet Dora delighted everyone with a very hilarious and family-oriented blockbuster flick Kimmy Dora: Kambal sa Kiyeme. The exciting dual roles were portrayed by award-winning versatile actress, also tagged as “The Global Actess” and “Darling Of Asian Cinema” Eugene Domingo. Written by Chris Martinez and directed by Bb. Joyce Bernal under Spring Films.

The movie revolved around Kimmy and Dora’s battle for their business tycoon-father Luisito Go Dong Hae’s (Ariel Ureta) attention. Aside from the much coveted attention, Kimmy and Dora also battled it out to capture Johnson’s (Dingdong

Dantes) heart. Kimmy Dora: Kambal sa Kiyeme earned a whopping P100 million in just few weeks and currently owns a spot as one of the highest grossing films in the country. One of the cited factors for Kimmy Dora’s record-breaking success was its independent promotion and marketing efforts without any strong push from large mediums like TV. The movie took advantage of promoting on other platforms such as social media. Kimmy Dora and the Temple of Kiyeme was the successful sequel of the blockbuster giant in 2012. The sequel tackled twin’s horror-comedy quest for life and love. In this installment, Kimmy and Dora married Barry (Zanjoe Marudo) and Johnson (Dingdong Dantes) - their respective partners from part one. Most part of the movie was filmed in South Korea. The sequel also boosted enormous blockbuster returns and marked as one of the biggest players that year.

REEL DEAL: Tuhog SPOTLIGHT

Skylight Films and Star Cinema have again come together to put up meaningful yet unconventional movie with TUHOG. This one is a different kind of "tuhog" from what we would know maybe the sexy film. This one would be the most literal interpretation of the title. And who will be unfortunate characters who will be skewered like barbecue?

It would be the threesome of Leo Martinez (Tonio), Enchong Dee (Caloy) and Eugene Domingo (Fiesta) together in an unfortunate road accident that also brought them together. Tonio, is a retired employee which found his new hobby which is baking and invested his saving putting up one. Fiesta is a busy bus conductor and driver (sometimes) who makes a living to just survive and not live as it is meant to be. And Caloy, a young guy who is staring out to know and experience love and life itself.  In the trailer which I could say left everyone puzzled, even myself.

REEL DEAL: I Do Bidoo Bidoo REVIEW

The great music of the APO Hiking Society already is a legend in OPM which has been venerated by many artists and even made a tribute album with popular artists and bands making their own rendition of the songs. Now we sometimes ask ourselves, why not make it a musical? That is what critically-acclaimed writer-director Chris Martinez have weaved together the timeless songs of APO into one musical movie of the year, I DO BIDOO BIDOO Heto nAPO sila.

Giving a whole new light with the songs of many generations that still popular even up to today, the film brings together a powerhouse cast that are perfect for each role. It stars, Sam Concepcion  (Rock Polotan) and Tippy Dos Santos (in her first major movie role as Tracy Fuentebella) as the lovely couple who plans to get married and goes into the traditional pamamanhikan stage. Tracy's parents, the Fuentebellas are Gary Valenciano (Nic Fuentebella) and Zsazsa Padilla (Ellaine Fuentebella), while Rock's parents are Ogie Alcasid  Pol Polotan) and Eugene Domingo (Rosie Polotan) which gives a whole lot of riot and touching moments in the film.

REEL DEAL: I Do Bidoo Bidoo Presscon

Unitel Pictures and Studio 5 brings this year the most festive movie musical of the year with “I DO BI DOO BIDOO” featuring the hits of the APO Hiking Society, written and directed by hitmaker Chris Martinez. Starring a star studded cast  of Ogie Alcasid, Gary Valenciano, Eugene Domingo, Zsazsa Padilla, Sam Concepcion, Tippy Dos Santos, Neil Coleta, Kiray Celis, Gerald Pesigan, and Sweet Plantado.

With a great array of the hits of the Apo Hiking Society, integrated into a great love story with a great cast makes it a movie to watch out for.

The movie centers on the 'pamamanhikan' in the life of the young bride and groom to be – an event that every Filipino family has to or will inevitably experience. A rich girl from the province, Tracy Fuentebella, and a poor boy from Manila, Rock Polotan, arranged a meeting of their two families – the Polotans and the Fuentebellas - before getting married, resulting in a disaster of “movie musical” proportions!

REEL DEAL: Kimmy Dora And The Temple Of Kiyeme SPOTLIGHT

The trailer of the sequel to the successful comedy movie Kimmy Dora has now been released! Kimmy and Dora (and Mikki) are back with hilarious antics and comedic scenes with Kimmy Dora And The Temple Of Kiyeme, by Star Cinema and Spring Films.

This brings the opposite-minded sisters to a scary quest involving a dark creature and secrets hidden in the Temple of Kiyeme. Also shows that they went abroad (most probably Korea) to pay respect to their ancestors. This also brings their leading men, Dingdong Dantes and Zanjoe Marudo.

The trailer is super funny and I am hoping the quality of comedy could match or exceed the first Kimmy Dora movie, for now enjoy the trailer!
