The recent Mother's Day weekend celebration felt more meaningful for classical crossover singer Gabri Panlilio, who released her latest single aptly titled, "A Mother's Angel."

Still reeling from the success of her previous release ("Our Time") just a month ago, the budding composer took advantage of her creative high and wasted no time in chalking up another worthy addition to her growing catalog of self-penned hits.

Amazingly, barely a week since its YouTube release, A Mother's Angel's lyric video already amassed close to 90,000 views.

It's actually surprising that this style brings flavor to the usual tunes that we have. Yet not everyone can shift to this because it takes training and techniques to make them possible.

This is what Victoria Gabrielle "Gabri" Panlilio has trained for years starting at a young age and is now considered as one of the country's emerging classical crossover artists, following in the footsteps of her musical idols such as Audra McDonald, Renee Fleming, Natalie Dessay and Cecilia Bartoli.

Her love for classical music started when she was 10 years old. Inspired with the Phantom of the Opera, she began her formal lessons and also trained under mezzo-soprano Clarissa Ocampo. Currently she is coached by  multi-awarded Fil-American tenor Arthur Espiritu.

Gabri Panlilio Represents The Philippines in ChildAid Asia Music Festival

Gabrielle Victoria Panlilio has been chosen as the Philippines’ official representative for this year’s ChildAid Asia music festival set for July 16-17 at the Kuala Lumpur Performing Arts Center in Malaysia.

The annual music festival, which started in 2011, is a fund-raising event aimed at proving financial assistance for talented but indigent musical prodigies from all over the Asian region, while at the same time forging strong intercultural relations among its member countries and affiliate international organizations.

Al Gatmaitan maybe young but has achieved many feats which has given him a lot of opportunities here and overseas. On his pursuit for new heights in his career as a Tenor, he enrolled himself to the New York University Steinhardt School for Music and Performing Arts Professions. With his admission to the prestigious school for music he needs all the help he can get, thus a benefit concert was held last May 14, and 21, first at Opera Haus and LRI Design Plaza respectively. 

I went to the May 21st concert where special guests include Soprano Gabri Panilio , Ms. Tricia Amper, Mezzo Soprano Clarissa Ocampo , Flamengco Dancer Lisa Dino, OPM Hitmaker Aiza Seguerra, and world class Pianist and UST ean, Professor in Music and Statistics at the Conservatory of Music Raul Sunico, with Collaborative Pianist Karl Estudillo.
