Gold and Platinum Record Awards Presented To Parokya Ni Edgar On ASAP Pinoy

Once again, Parokya ni Edgar have proven that they are indeed the "Pambansang Banda ng Bayan" when they received not just one but two awards last Sunday on ASAP noontime show.

The first recognition is a Gold Record for their 10th album "Pogi Years Old" which includes the hits "Lagi Mong Tatandaan," "Sing," (a collab with Rico Blanco) among others. The second award is a Platinum Record for "Bente" a compilation album featuring all their chartbusting singles that have dominated the airwaves over the years, which also includes two new songs.

The awards were presented to the band by Universal Records’ General Manager Kathleen Dy Go, immediately after they were given a tribute by ASAP featuring performances of Parokya's hits by Philippines’ top OPM Acts Gary V, Elmo and Arkin Magalona, Sarah Geronimo, Daniel Padilla, Angeline Quinto, KZ Tandingan, Darren Espanto, Kyle Echarri, Kean Cipriano and Ney Dimaculangan on a special segment called ASAP Pinoy. 

Jay-R's Elevated Album Turns Gold

King of RnB Jay-R chalked up another musical milestone when his Elevated album recently turned gold.

The awarding ceremony, presided over by PARI Chairman Atty. Marivic Benedicto and Homeworkz Ad Prom Officer Perry McDonald, was held at ABS-CBN’s Sunday noontime show A.S.A.P. yesterday, January 22.

The album, released October 2014, sold more than 7,500 units, based on both digital and physical sales, based on data compiled by PARI and the Optical Media Board.

Aiza Seguerra’s new album now certified Gold!

After the successful release of singer-songwriter Aiza Seguerra’s latest album, “Araw Gabi: Mga Awit ni Maestro Ryan” has scored a gold record award. Aiza’s gold record was awarded to her by Universal Records’ General Manager, Kathleen Dy-Go, in Eat Bulaga last September 16, 2015.

As the acoustic singer pays tribute to Maestro Ryan Cayabyab, it also features Mr. C playing the piano for single “Tuwing Umuulan At Kapiling Ka.” The album also includes fresh takes on some of the most-loved Ryan Cayabyab compositions like “Araw Gabi,” “Minsan Ang Minahal Ay Ako,” “Kay Ganda Ng Ating Musika,” “Kahit Ika’y Isang Panaginip Lamang,” “Paano Na Kaya,” “Tunay Na Ligaya,” “Iduyan Mo,” among others.

MUSIC LYF: Karylle scores gold for ‘K’

Singer-actress-TV host Karylle received a Gold Record Award for her latest album “K” yesterday, December 4, during the live episode of “It’s Showtime.” PolyEast Records’ Managing Director Jesmon Chua presented the award.

The album includes the hit singles “Sa ‘Yo Na Lang Ako,” “Kiss You,” “Kapiling Kita,” among others.

“K” celebrates a number of firsts for Karylle – joining a contest and collaborating with a cousin-rapper.

“I’ve never ever joined a contest before, but it was worth it because I got to sing a beautiful song – Lara Maigue’s ‘Sa ‘yo Na Lang Ako,’ which everyone loves,” expresses K. “I am also thrilled big time that I got to collaborate with one of my favorite rappers – my cousin Dash Calzado.”

The singer-actress also thanks Kiko Salazar for turning an unfinished “Kiss You” to complete song, and for contributing “Kapiling Kita.” 

Karylle adds, “This album is extra special because of a million reasons. It was a reunion with my first two producers Ito Rapadas, who produced ‘Sa’Yo Nalang Ako’ and DJ MOD, who remixed ‘Bad Boys.’”

San Marino cited by Reader's Digest Two Years in a Row


San Marino has solidified its reputation as the most trusted corned tuna brand in the Philippine when it bagged he Gold Award in Reader's Digest Trusted Brands Consumer Poll two years in a row (2011 and 2012).

The Gold Award bestowed on San Marino represents a "seal of approval, a vote of trust and confidence from consumers," according to Reader's Digest in one of its issue.

The criteria employed in the poll inculde trustworthiness and credibility, quality, value, understading of customer needs, innovativeness, and social responsiblity.
