Breaking barriers through digital healthcare, PH healthcare mega app mWell brings Hong Kong OFWs closer to Pinoy doctors

Responding to the need of Filipino migrant workers in Hong Kong for access to doctors who speak their language, Metro Pacific Investments Corporation’s (MPIC) mWell partnered with the Department of Migrant Workers to enable Overseas Filipino Workers (DMW) to conveniently consult Pinoy doctors using the mWell app.  The collaboration was launched at the town hall meeting with key DMW officials and leaders of the Filipino Community (FILCOM) at the Philippine Consulate General in Hong Kong. As the Philippines’ first and only health app available globally, this milestone marks the first step in mWell’s mission to bring healthcare closer to Filipinos in all parts of the world.

Hugh Jackman Meets HK Fans, Joins Dragon Parade for "Pan"‏

Global superstar Hugh Jackman, who plays the fearsome pirate Blackbeard in Warner Bros. Pictures' upcoming action-adventure “Pan,” was in Hong Kong Sept. 28 to meet fans and spearhead the Asian launch of the highly-anticipated film.

After a meet and greet with fans in Times Square, Jackman became the first international star ever to participate in the Chinese Mid Autumn Festival celebration in Hong Kong, the Fire Dragon Festival. As a special honor, Jackman was asked to hold the Fire Dragon’s pearl in the parade.

Hollywood descended in Hong Kong June 19 for the world premiere of Michael Bay's “Transformers: Age of Extinction,” the fourth installment of the mega-blockbuster franchise.

The red-carpet event and screening took place at the Hong Kong Culture Center, and attended by director Michael Bay, cast members Mark Wahlberg, Stanley Tucci, Kelsey Grammer, Nicola Peltz, Jack Reynor, Li Bingbing, T. J. Miller, Han Geng and the band IMAGINE DRAGONS, who wrote the original song "Battle Cry" for the film and performed live on the rooftop of Harbour City following the film's screening.

In celebration of Manila day SM City Manila had its yearly sale but that day was also perfect time to see the Ignite Dance perform in public as most of them was fresh from their international competition in Hong Kong. They competed at the "Asian highschoolers hiphop championship" and made it  to the grand finals.

They were also busy with the summer workshops for various kinds of dance as well as teaching the young and old. Ignite Dance Manila has went beyond that other Philippine dance groups has never done before.

MUSIC LYF: RICO BLANCO & RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS TALK PACMAN


Warner Music Philippines recently sent its recording and management artist Rico Blanco to Hong Kong to attend the concert and press conference of global rock phenomenon Red Hot Chili Peppers.

Blanco's encounter with RHCP mainly focused on the music and - on a not-so-serious note - their mutual admiration for our Pambansang Kamao Manny "Pacman" Pacquiao!

When Blanco had his turn to meet and greet the four members of RHCP – lead vocalist Anthony Kiedis, bassist Flea, drummer Chad Smith and new guitarist Josh Klinghoffer - the band asked Blanco if he's from the Philippines. The band went gaga when Blanco said yes because of two things: the news that a huge number of Filipinos that reportedly will fly to Hong Kong to attend the concert and Manny Pacquiao. The Red Hot Chili Peppers were reportedly real big fans of our beloved Pacman. The band even asked Blanco if he would know if Pacman would go to the concert.
