J.J. Abrams Awakens "Cloverfield" with Unofficial Sequel‏

While he was directing, producing and co-writing a little film called “Star Wars: The Force Awakens,” J.J. Abrams still found some time left over to produce Paramount Pictures' new suspense thriller “10 Cloverfield Lane,” an “unofficial” sequel to the 2007 found-footage hit “Cloverfield” which he also produced.

Described as a mere “blood relative” to “Cloverfield,” the new film “10 Cloverfield Lane” stars John Goodman, Mary Elizabeth Winstead and John Gallagher, Jr. The film's official synopsis only reads, “Monsters come in many forms.” Dan Trachtenberg directs “10 Cloverfield Lane” from a screenplay by Josh Campbell and Matt Stuecken.

"Star Wars: The Force Awakens" Returns to PH Cinemas Jan 8‏

In response to deafening clarmor from fans, Lucasfilm's "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" will return to regular Philippine cinemas on Friday, Jan. 8.

“The Force Awakens” has been showered universal praise, even garnering a Best Picture nomination from America's Broadcast Film Critics Association. It has shattered box office records since it hit theaters worldwide in mid-December.

Most recently, the seventh film in the Star Wars saga blew past the domestic grosses of both “Jurassic World” ($652.3 million) and “Titanic” ($658.7 million) to become the second-highest earner of all time with $740.3 million in just 19 days of release.

This has been the most awaited movie of the year, and many have high hopes and expectation for the film. As the Star Wars franchise made a mark in pop culture and has been part of many generations who have seen it, collected toys and merchandise, games, and even had cosplays of it. 

To start a whole new films that follows the timeline after the original trilogy which stars Mark Hamil, Harrisson Ford and Carrie Fisher. As a lapse of over 30 years, lot has changed in the galaxy far far away. With a new kind of evil that rose from the previous empire, a new villain Kylo Ren emerges to seek the destruction of the rebels.

There also comes the characters of Poe (Isaac), Rey (Ridley), and Finn (Boyega) who will start a new path and will also be connected with the Resistance. It will be refreshing to see Princess Leia, Han Solo, and Luke Skywalker for this one. But let us not forget that there are also the droids C3PO, R2D2, and the new favorite BB8.

The New Villains of "Star Wars: The Force Awakens"

The baddies of “Star Wars” have always been the cooler ones. Just one look at Darth Vader and the stormtroopers, and you know they absolutely kick ass.

For “Star Wars: The Force Awakens,” the mantle of villainy has been passed to Adam Driver, Domhnall Gleeson and Gwendoline Christie (HBO's “Game of Thrones”) who play the evil triumvirate Kylo Ren, General Hux and Captain Phasma, respectively.

The three share thoughts about their roles and how it feels to be part of “Star Wars: The Force Awakens.”

"Star Wars: The Force Awakens" Rolls Out Character Posters‏

Five castmembers of Lucasfilm's “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” get the star treatment as the studio releases their individual character posters. They are Harrison Ford (as Han Solo), Carrie Fischer (as Leia), John Boyega (as Finn), Adam Driver (as Kylo Ren) and Daisy Ridley (as Rey).

“Star Wars: The Force Awakens” is directed by J.J. Abrams from a screenplay by Lawrence Kasdan & Abrams, and features a cast including actors John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac, Andy Serkis, Academy Award winner Lupita Nyong’o, Gwendoline Christie, Crystal Clarke, Pip Andersen, Domhnall Gleeson, and Max von Sydow. They will join the original stars of the saga, Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamill, Anthony Daniels, Peter Mayhew, and Kenny Baker.

New "Star Wars" Film "Awakens" Earlier in PH on Dec 17‏

Lucasfilm's “Star Wars: The Force Awakens,” director J.J. Abrams' seventh installment in the beloved franchise, will open across the Philippines on Thursday, Dec. 17 – this was announced today by a spokesman of Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures.

The Philippine opening is one day ahead of most territories in the “galaxy,” including the US, where the film will debut on Friday, Dec. 18.
