REVIEW: Hawkeye

Another fun series Marvel Studios released as part of their Phase 4 of the MCU is Hawkeye which is the last series to be released in 2021. Though many have clamored for his own movie can also be a possibility but having a series was a good call to give more development of Clint and Kate's story who both holds the mantle of Hawkeye.

SPOILERS AHEAD.

The series might also be just six episodes but tells a lot of first building the connection between Clint and Kate as they are both world apart from being an Avenger and a superhero-in-training. Though I have not red the comics about Kate Bishop's origin, her character does give her a unique personality which many would compare with other archer characters. She has a strong determination, sense of humor, and good archery skills that can keep up with Barton.

The series did also address the character of Ronin which was ruthless, made many enemies, and was killer. As Clint wanted to move on from that dark past, Kate stumbled upon Ronin clothes and even used it in combat. Unintentionally making enemies and got caught in the chaos where Ronin was involved. But this also brought the two together to work which also has friction at first but finally worked as partners.

Jeremy Renner Becomes an Easy Target in Game of "Tag"

Two-time Oscar nominee Jeremy Renner (“Arrival,” “Avengers” films) stars in New Line Cinema’s comedy “Tag” as Jerry, the undefeated player in a game of tag that friends have been playing since they were little kids.

“I thought it was awesome that there are guys who really do this in real life,” says Renner.  “The script was hysterical, but it also attracted me because it was about friendship lasting in perpetuity. I’ve moved around a lot, so I think having continuity from your past is really important.  I’m a big believer in holding on to things that matter; if you value something, it sometimes takes great effort to keep it.”

Real-Life "Tag" Game Among Grown Men Inspires New Comedy

What if you never had to give up the games that you played as a kid?  The kind that kept you and your friends outside, way past sunset.  What if, as a grown up, you could keep the games going with your friends, forever?

In New Line Cinema’s “Tag,” five guys—despite age, geography, and adult circumstances like jobs, illness, marriage and children—manage to keep playing.  For the entire month of May every year, no matter what is on their plate, they revert to the antics that consumed them in grade school, when they first started chasing each other on the playground. Against all odds, they keep in touch. Letting themselves have fun and be childlike together, even if only once a year, actually makes them better friends and more responsible adults.

“Casting [ARRIVAL} was the easiest thing in my career,” says Villeneuve, “because everybody fell in love with the screenplay. Amy Adams was the actress I was dreaming of for this part because I knew that the audience would believe in this movie if the actress believed in it—everything is happening through her eyes.”

REEL DEAL: Captain America Civil War

Another clash movie of the year is the awaited movie of the Marvel Cinematic Universe of 2016, Captain America: Civil War puts all heroes into the big screen not fighting bad guys but each other. As ironic it may sound, it does seems inevitable that they would not always be on the same boat.

Known to be one of the biggest clashes in the Marvel universe, Civil War is really literal. There was sides chosen upon the presentation of an accord that leaves them with a choice of following the directive of many nations or free to act upon the need to help. But we all know it is a complicated world with all the politics, policies, and amplified with the possible threats that their abilities can inflict to humanity.

This defines the line of "Captain America" which like the US is always politically connected with the current threats of society like terrorism and espionage. As some would see it as another Avengers movie with the introduction of Spider-Man, Ant Man, and Black Panter, it never forgets that it is Cap's movie.

With many conspiracies, secrets, needs to be established, there would be a longer time of dialogues and word wars more than the actual fight scenes. Many would find it boring, but I think they are really needed to further understand what is going on.

Jeremy Renner Leads Returning Team in "Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation"

Ethan Hunt (Tom Cruise) has never needed the other members of the IMF more than he does in Paramount Pictures’  “Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation” – and despite the appearance that the force is done, they all come together, unpredictably as ever, to take on The Syndicate as only the IMF can.  The result is that Jeremy Renner, Simon Pegg and Ving Rhames had a chance to take their characters more than a few bounds forward.

“I love the dynamics between Jeremy, Simon and Ving on this film as you see the IMF team come under pressure and almost fracture,” says Tom Cruise. “It looks like the IMF is about to split apart and the whole story is going to blow up basically – and that’s integral to a Mission movie.”

Fifth "Mission: Impossible" Goes to Extremes, Ups the Stakes‏

Paramount Pictures’ new action-thriller “Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation,” the fifth installment of the series, redefines the term impossible.

It’s something the film franchise has been doing since its box-office busting start two decades ago: with each new film, the team led by dedicated star and producer Tom Cruise has uncovered ways to match, then exceed, audience expectations, each time in different ways. Having begun as a cult phenomenon on 1960s television, “Mission: Impossible” has become a 21st Century cultural phenomenon – a filmmaking event that consistently pushes that border where the classic drama of spy-versus-spy intrigue meets creative action sequences that have become legendary.

Watch How Tom Cruise Did Plane Stunt in "Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation"‏

In Paramount Pictures' new action-thriller “Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation,” Tom Cruise outdoes himself as he takes on one of his biggest stunt challenges yet: hanging on the outside of a plane while it literally takes off. Into the air!

The studio is proud of Cruise's daredevil stunt and wants everyone to know that this is the real deal, no CGI. And to prove this, Paramount has released a brief featurette that includes raw video of Cruise performing the stunt, which may be viewed here at http://youtu.be/s94PbLFa4Rk.

"Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation" Takes Off in IMAX July 30‏

REEL DEAL: Avengers Age Of Ultron REVIEW

It has been 3 years since the incident in New York changed the world and also brought forth Earth's mightiest heroes, the Avengers. And with the story continues for the elite team with the birth of a very wicked and devious villain which came from the mind of one of the avengers, Ultron.

With the introduction of the Maximoff "twins" Wanda and Pietro, and also the highly anticipated appearance of Vision brings more thrills to this movie. We also see that it will still involve the infinity gems which when gathered could mean the end of many in the universe. But first things first that the avengers will have to face is the global threat of human extinction with Ultron's diabolical plan.

For geeks and fans, there are a lot of easter eggs scattered in the movie including the role Stan Lee whill be portraying as he has been doing in all of Marvel films. You might also want to research on the infinity stones as well as the films that show the other stones that will give you the idea of how bad it will be in the next films in the Marvel universe.

REEL DEAL: Downet Feels “AGE OF ULTRON” Marks End of Era, Start of New

Fan-favorite Robert Downey Jr. reprises his seminal portrayal of Tony Stark/Iron Man for the fifth time in Marvel’s “Avengers: Age of Ultron.” In Marvel’s “The Avengers” Tony Stark struggled to become a team player and in “Iron Man 3” audiences saw him transcend his dependency on the tech that was keeping him alive. So where does he go now?

To Downey Jr., the answer is simple: “There’s all this unfinished business. There’s the matter of a certain wormhole that opened over New York and the imminent threat that still implies, so Tony has turned his attentions more toward a bit of a post-Reagan-era, Star-Wars-type notion and he likes to call it Ultron.”

REEL DEAL: Ultron Hell Bent On Human Extinction In "AVENGERS" Sequel

In Marvel's “Avengers: Age of Ultron,” the Super Hero dream team must reassemble in order to stop the terrifying technological villain Ultron who's hell-bent on human extinction.

The decision to give Ultron his day in the sun as the villain of the film was always Joss Whedon’s first choice despite the end sequence in Marvel’s “The Avengers,” which featured the character of Thanos. The writer/director explains, “For me Thanos was always meant to be in the 3rd Avengers movie because he really is a god,” explains Whedon. “He is like a supreme being of evil and for me it was the cosmic cube because I’m really old; for some people it was the infinity gauntlet, but the great crossovers were usually Thanos-based and he made everybody’s lives miserable. And so the idea that he was the prime mover behind all of this just seemed natural.”

REEL DEAL: Johansson, Renner, Back as Black Widow, Hawkeye In "AVENGERS" Sequel

Acclaimed actors Scarlett Johansson and Jeremy Renner reprise their beloved, kick-ass roles as Black Widow and Hawkeye, respectively, in Marvel's new action-adventure “Avengers: Age of Ultron.”

When Johansson dons Black Widow’s gear for the new film, she has one clear goal in mind: keeping true to her character. She says, “The most important aspect of my job as an actor, who’s been carrying this character from ‘Iron Man’ to ‘The Avengers’ and ‘Captain America: The Winter Soldier,’ is to keep consistency with the character’s arc and have the character’s evolution be one that is cohesive. You want to feel like the character is growing as opposed to just staying the same.”

Although Johansson worked with different directors over the course of inhabiting the Natasha Romanoff character, it was her first meeting with director/writer Joss Whedon that allowed her to explore her character’s past. “In my first meeting with Joss, I had the chance to talk about Natasha’s backstory and her sordid past,” recalls Johansson, “and I wanted to make sure that she stayed sort of gray, not really black or white. What’s exciting and compelling about the character is that she’s not Cap; she’s not righteous. She was in S.H.I.E.L.D. because it’s where she belonged, not necessarily that it was the right place to be. Now we find The Avengers in business as usual mode but it’s changing. So it’s my job to make sure that Natasha, through that change, stays true to the Natasha that I started with in ‘The Avengers.’”
