REEL DEAL: Kong Skull Island REVIEW

King Kong has been a household name for almost a century and it had many incarnations and interpretations which made it one of the most iconic monsters on film. Now this year, the king is back with Kong: Skull Island.

But this Kong is bigger, badder, and deadlier. The expedition for the search was  large party which is led by a government organization called Monarch. This leads to forming a team which includes a tracker, a photo journalist and the military.

Kong was powerful, violent and unbound. With the island itself a place of very odd creatures and they are deadly. As another film showing the famous gigantic primate, this is indeed scary AF.  There were a lot of jump scares in the movie which works best in 3D or IMAX.

Kong is also connected to the 2014 Godzilla movie which will also lead to more movies in the future, thus the Kong will definitely have a lot of appearances in future movies. Also there is an end credit scene so don't leave early!

The Sound and the Fury: Creating "Kong" of "Skull Island"

For the filmmakers overseeing such a complex production as “Kong: Skull Island,” there was perhaps nothing more challenging or exhilarating than the creation of the title character. They certainly didn’t make things easy for themselves. “I always imagined King Kong as being his own species and defying any simple characterization or comparison with the creatures of our world,” says producer Thomas Tull.

Oscar Best Actress-winner for 2015’s Room, Brie Larson now stars as Vietnam War photojournalist Mason Weaver in Warner Bros. Pictures and Legendary Pictures' Kong: Skull Island, an epic action-adventure that reimagines the origins of one the most powerful monster myths of all.

Cut off from everything they know, the team ventures into the domain of the mighty Kong, igniting the ultimate battle between man and nature.
