REEL DEAL: It's Time to Legalize "Ted" in Raunchy, Comedy Sequel‏

In 2012, one adorable, albeit incredibly foulmouthed, teddy bear took the world by storm. With his classic, furry good looks, unparalleled swagger and penchant for pot-fueled humor and sexually charged antics, an unlikely leading man catapulted Universal Pictures and Media Rights Capital’s small comedy “Ted” about a stoner dude and his best friend to its status as the highest-grossing original “R”-rated comedy of all time.

This July, Seth MacFarlane returns as writer, director and voice star of “Ted 2,” the follow-up to the blockbuster that launched the career of the world’s most outrageous bear. Joined once again by Mark Wahlberg as John Bennett, the thunder buddies for life are entering into uncharted territory.

REEL DEAL: Seth MacFarlane Returns to Direct, Voice for "Ted" in Sequel‏

After “Ted’s” phenomenal success at the worldwide box office and in-home entertainment in 2012, it was natural that conversations among the filmmakers and Universal Pictures would turn to a sequel.

For writer-director Seth MacFarlane, however, it was a not given that another chapter would automatically move forward. He explains: “I actually hadn’t planned on making a “Ted 2,” but any time something does well, that always comes up. There’s no reason to do it if you’re going to repeat the same movie. It’s not satisfying for the audience, and it’s really boring for us.”

Still, MacFarlane admits that he has a great deal of fondness for the characters and the genre lends itself to limitless ideas: “It’s a little easier with a comedy, because comedy is generally character-based, as opposed to premise-based, and in a way you treat it like a TV series. You have these characters that can be put in any situation, and we felt that Ted and John could sustain a totally different story. They were very strong in and of themselves, and so it was conceivable to do a sequel that would be worthwhile. So, it was fun to go in and figure out what we could do with these characters that would be completely different from what we did in the last movie.”

REEL DEAL: Mark Wahlberg's Youthful Experiences Inspire "Entourage"‏

Mark Wahlberg produces and makes a cameo in Warner Bros. Pictures' new comedy “Entourage,” the much-anticipated big-screen version of the award-winning hit HBO series.

The TV show Entourage, created by Doug Ellin and loosely inspired by the youthful experiences of executive producer Mark Wahlberg, first aired on HBO in July 2003. Combining loveable characters, dizzying glamour, big-name star cameos and razor-sharp Hollywood satire, for eight seasons it followed the adventures of movie star Vince and his three closest friends.

In 2011 the ride came to an end, with the band of brothers hugging it out for the last time in an airport hangar. But a coda in which cellphone-smashing super-agent Ari Gold (Jeremy Piven) got a phone call, offering him the opportunity to run a movie studio, suggested that there was more fun to come.

REEL DEAL: Ted REVIEW

From the makers of animated series Family Guy comes a adult comedy that makes a crossover with a fairy tale twist. Ted tells a story of a teddy bear that came to life because of a wish of a young boy named John.

John (Mark Walberg) grew up and so did Ted (to be a rude and perveted bear) and now on a four year relationship with his girlfriend Lori (Mila Kunis). Ted's personality and attachtment with John attracted conflicts with his relationship. Ted is the first movie from the creators of Family Guy and American Dad, which features some of its voice actors like Seth MacFarlane, who voices Ted and Mila Kunis as Lori.

REEL DEAL: Ted SPOTLIGHT

REEL DEAL: Contraband - Mark Walberg SPOTLIGHT

Mark  Wahlberg produces and plays  “Chris Farraday” in Baltasar Kormakur’s  CONTRABAND

For Contraband, Director Baltasar Kormákur employed the same casting technique he used during the years he made movies in his home country.  Rather than choosing an actor by his or her looks, the director casts according to the performer’s personality.  “I like to find the core of people,” he says.  “The outer appearance is less important.  What is the person?  You try to figure that out and make that right for the character.”

The first actor cast was the same man to whom the director brought his ideas for a film inspired by the one in which he last performed.  Kormákur commends: “Mark Wahlberg has a mixture of boyish charm and toughness, and you believe him as a blue-collar guy.  Chris has actually walked out of the criminal world, but then he’s forced back in.  That’s the great thing about heist-thrillers.  It’s great to see people step outside the norm and do something that the rest of us wouldn’t do.”

Describing his character, Wahlberg explains: “Chris is definitely a thinker, but he is not afraid to raise his voice or get his hands dirty.”  For Wahlberg, when his character finds himself back in the game, and possibly over his head, that’s when the fun begins.  He offers: “Chris is continuing to try to figure out a way to survive, to still solve the problem and then get his ass home to his wife and kids.”

What drew you to this project?

I saw the original movie and really liked it a lot.  These are the kind of movies I like to watch, with the kind of characters I like to play. Now our new thing is to try to find cool European films, obtain the rights and remake them.

Can you describe your character, Chris Farraday?

He is just a good, hard-working guy trying to do the right thing. Unfortunately, his brother-in-law is not the sharpest guy around so Chris has to go back and clean up his mess. This forces him back into the world of smuggling.

REEL DEAL: Contraband REVIEW

Based on a great Icelandic movie Reykjavik-Rotterdam, a different way to see the importance of family. What happens whens a simple family life gets involved into a complicated world of gangsters, drugs and smuggling.

Mark Wahlberg leads the cast of Contraband, a white-knuckle action-thriller about a man trying to stay out of a world he worked hard to leave behind and the family he’ll do anything to protect. Set in New Orleans, the film explores the cutthroat underground world of international smuggling—full of desperate criminals and corrupt officials, high-stakes and big payoffs—where loyalty rarely exists and death is one wrong turn away.

Chris Farraday (Wahlberg) long ago abandoned his life of crime, but after his brother-in-law, Andy (Caleb Landry Jones), botches a drug deal for his ruthless boss, Tim Briggs (Giovanni Ribisi), Chris is forced back into doing what he does best—running contraband—to settle Andy’s debt. Chris is a legendary smuggler and quickly assembles a crew with the help of his best friend, Sebastian (Ben Foster), to head to Panama and return with millions in counterfeit bills.
