Taking A Digital Timeout with Analog Hours

I have to admit that my digital life takes a lot off my own personal/offline life. I would even say that I do facebook longer than I sleep, which is a fact and I'm sure that many of you would also be in the same situation. With almost all the things we have are found online and can be done with a click of buttons and touchscreens, the world has become smaller in terms of communications but a little bit bigger in terms of actual interactions with real life people.

With work, play, and even rest dominated by the pixels and electronics, I would like to go on a Digital Timeout. That means I would like to spend more time exploring the outside world, talk to people, sing, dance, and draw. Gradually but effectively shift to a more balanced digital and reality schedule. And with Holy Week staring next week, I hope to be faithful to that promise and find my offline self again.

Celebrate real-world connections with McDonald’s and Coca-Cola!

People nowadays have a lot of options when it comes to interacting with one another. All the advancements in technology, smartphones and gadgets allow us to communicate online via messaging apps and social networking sites. And more often than not, more connections start happening in the digital world than in the real one.

This is why McDonald’s and Coca-Cola, two iconic, global brands and long-time partners, which champion happiness, enjoyment and togetherness, are taking a stand and encouraging people to stay offline a little longer and enjoy real-world connections. Although embracing online connections, McDonald’s and Coca-Cola believe it is our physical interactions which make our digital lives more meaningful—that real-life moments, such as hearing a story in person, receiving a warm hug and sharing a McDonald’s meal and Coke drink face-to-face, are those which create lasting memories.
