REEL DEAL: Matt Damon In "THE MARTIAN"

The recent release of the first look photos of Ridley Scott’s upcoming film “The Martian” starring Matt Damon reveals the actor as a stranded astronaut left behind by his crew after being presumed dead during a fierce storm.  

“The Martian” features a star studded cast that includes Jessica Chastain, Kristen Wiig, Kate Mara, Michael Pena, Jeff Daniels, Chiwetel Ejiofor, and Donald Glover.

The movie is based on the best-selling novel by Andy Weir wherein Damon’s character Mark Watney, an astronaut left behind on Mars, must draw upon his ingenuity, wit and spirit to survive on the hostile planet while waiting for the most daring and impossible rescue mission to bring him back.

“The Martian” opens very soon this November 26 from 20th Century Fox to be distributed by Warner Bros.

REEL DEAL: America's Box Office Winner and Number 1 Film "FURY" Now Showing In Cinemas

The World War II action drama “Fury” that recently landed number one at the North American box-office at $23.5 million debut starring Academy Award Winner Brad Pitt is now showing nationwide in the Philippines.

“Fury” puts together a winning cast along with Pitt, a squadron of fearless soldiers in a Sherman tank called Fury – Shia LaBeouf, Michael Pena, Jason Isaacs, Jon Bernthal and Logan Lerman.  The movie brings these American soldiers to German territory during the last days and bastion of World War II.    


Rotten Tomatoes, worldwide online reference when it comes to movies reflects an 80% score among critics with an overall consensus that the movie is a well-acted, suitably raw depiction of the horrors of war that offers visceral battle scenes. 

REEL DEAL: Production Begine On Marvel's “ANT-MAN”

Marvel Studios began principal photography today in San Francisco, California, on its newest Super Hero franchise Marvel's "Ant-Man." The film brings one of Marvel comics' original founding members of The Avengers into the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The production also shoots on location in Atlanta, Georgia, which serves as the base for the film's production.

Set for release in the United States on July 17, 2015, the film is directed by Peyton Reed ("Bring it On," "The Break-Up") and stars Paul Rudd ("I Love You Man," "Role Models") as Scott Lang aka Ant-Man, and Michael Douglas ("Behind The Candelabra," "Wall Street") as his mentor Dr. Hank Pym and Evangeline Lilly ("The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug," "Lost") as Hope Van Dyne, daughter of Hank Pym.

The film also includes outstanding additional cast including Corey Stoll ("House of Cards," "The Bourne Legacy"), Bobby Cannavale ("Danny Collins," "Annie," "HBO's "The Long Play"), Michael Pena ("End of Watch," "American Hustle"), Abby Ryder Fortson ("Togetherness"), Judy Greer ("13 Going on 30," "Dawn of the Planet of the Apes"), David Dastmalchian ("The Dark Knight," "Prisoners"), Wood Harris ("Remember the Titans," "The Wire"), John Slattery ("Mad Men," Marvel's "Iron Man 2") and Gregg Turkington ("The Comedy," "On Cinema") and multi-hyphenate T.I. Columbia Pictures has just revealed the poster art for writer/director David Ayer's “Fury” starring Brad Pitt.

“Fury” is set at the very end of World War II, in April 1945. As the Allies make their final push in the European Theater, a battle-hardened army sergeant named Wardaddy (Pitt) commands a Sherman tank and her five-man crew on a deadly mission behind enemy lines. Outnumbered and outgunned, Wardaddy and his men face overwhelming odds in their heroic attempts to strike at the heart of Nazi Germany.

The film also stars Shia LaBeouf, Logan Lerman, Michael Pena, Jon Bernthal and Jason Isaacs.

Opening in Philippine theaters on November 14, 2014, “Fury” is distributed by Columbia Pictures, local office of Sony Pictures Releasing International.

“Turbo” is the story of an unusual hero, an ordinary garden snail with big dreams. He may be one of the slowest creatures on the planet but he longs to be fast, speedy enough to win a legendary car race. With heart-stopping action and lively characters, the family film from DreamWorks Animation and Twentieth Century Fox centers on the engaging Theo (he changes his name to Turbo) ,voiced by the talented Ryan Reynolds, who lives in the yard of a house in Southern California. He sneaks into the garage at night to watch racing on an old TV set and is obsessed with French-Canadian world champion,Guy Gagné, (Bill Hader) the five-times winner of the historic Indy 500: [The Indianapolis 500-Mile Race] one of the world’s most prestigious car races that is held at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

When we think of snails, we think of a slow and boring world. And with what snails do for the rest of their lives is something many people also experience and are trapped in their own cycle of repetitive chores. But the movie TURBO by Dreamworks Animation is now out to prove something that kids and adults can learn a lot.

TURBO tells the story of Theo (Ryan Reynolds), a garden snail who dreams to be fast and reach his idol Guy Ganye. And in one unexpected night, he changed to be the fastest snail in the world. He transformed into a super snail that can run as fast as cars and has taken the new name Turbo.

Now turbo will pursue his dreams as he meets race snails and people along the way. With his superpowers giving him an advantage, will he reach dreams he is longing to have? And what other interesting thing he and his new gang would do to differ from the snail life into a life of speed and slide.

REEL DEAL: Michelle Rodriguez - Fast and Furious In "Turbo"

DreamWorks Animation’s upcoming action adventure movie “Turbo” starring Ryan Reynolds, Paul Giamatti, Michelle Rodriguez, Ken Jeong and Samuel L. Jackson is a mash-up of superhero and racing film genres.  It turns a garden snail into a mighty mollusk who travels at super-speed. 

When we meet Turbo, he’s somewhat of an outcast in the snail community, which is less about big dreams and more about punching a time clock at their place of employment (and principal source of nourishment) – the [tomato] “plant.”   Leaving the plant behind, Turbo begins his journey to fulfill his dreams when he is swept from a freeway overpass onto the hood of a sports car, and is then propelled into the muscle car’s air intake valve.  Explosive nitrous oxide charges every atom of Turbo’s body, altering his molecular structure.  The freak accident infuses Turbo with incredible speed – he can reach 200 miles per hour – and he now blazes across the streets of Los Angeles like a neon bullet.
