Have you Heard Of AQ? Know Them with Your Kids Through ZooMoo

We know IQ is Intelligence Quotient, EQ is Emotional Quotient, but AQ is a new term I just encountered. And this one is important to kids because it means Animal Quotient. Yes, we need to have an awareness of how we know animals and how to take care of them. Raising kids having good knowledge and values towards living things is indeed a great trait for every child.

Since TV is one of places where kids learn and understand the world, we continue to look for child-friendly channels and shows suited for them. Since the online world is a very risky place, we would resort to TV particularly cable.

Good thing that ZooMoo is now available in SkyCable which is dedicated for child-safe shows and entertainment meant to develop their AQ. Think of it as a combination of your favorite animal channels cater made for your children. Plus since we usually don't have access to zoos and the wild, this is the best place where they can learn about animals, conservation, nature, and their participation in the future.

Avida Land, PEF sign MOA for bid to save Philippine Eagle

Avida Land has entered into a sponsorship agreement with the Philippine Eagle Foundation (PEF)—after the signing of the MOA, Avida officially supports the foundation’s efforts to help save the Philippine Eagle and its habitat. With the agreement, Avida is now one of the corporate sponsors of PEF in a concentrated bid to protect this critically endangered species.

The Philippine eagle is considered one of the largest and most powerful eagles in the world. It is also one of the rarest of all eagle species, found only in the forests of Luzon, Samar, Leyte and Mindanao. Unfortunately, the destruction of forests threatens these raptors’ (meaning, “birds of prey”) existence. The Philippine Eagle is critically endangered and there only about 500 pairs left in the wild

Following the terms of the agreement, Avida Land will support PEF for the next 3 years to help breed Philippine eagles at the PEF sanctuary. The sponsorship also goes into efforts to educate the public on the importance of the Philippine eagle to Davao’s ecosystem and to our national heritage.

It’s Earth Hour 24/7 At The Kapuso Network

On 31 March 2012, between 8:30 pm to 9:30 pm, the islands of the Philippines are set to go dark – all in the name of saving energy and keeping the planet green.

This, in a nutshell, is what Earth Hour is all about.

Every year, GMA Network aligns with WWF Philippines to help celebrate this global event. The lights of the Network’s headquarters in Quezon City go off during the annual Switch Off event. In 2011, GMA 7 had an expanded participation, so to speak, as its originating stations in various provinces also had their lights turned off for 60 minutes in commemoration of Earth Hour.
