Blog Action Day YO H20! (Blah blah bogs special edition)

special edition
Yo! H2O

Yeah, as a living person, you should, I mean you must already know the importance of water for yo and to the whole world. Without it, we all die, as in all living creatures. Its the main component that helped us to evolve. It shaped the great continents and formed nations. Its the reason why we have rain, snow, haze, fog and even storms. It nurtured the plants and animals that we humans change into our own food, going into many processes and finally to you.

Now even with our wastes, water also takes care of that. From cleaning our bodies to help decompose organic materials and using them as a nutrient for plants and animals, the endless cycle is what brought us here to this time. Now, the bad thing is, as humans progress, we also neglect the value of water. In poor and undeveloped nations and remote areas, water is scarce and even expensive. Many people die due to dehydration and other water related incidents than war. So it had also been an endless battle for us to make this necessity available for all and most of all safe.

Now, the problem is many of our people today have lost the value of water to our daily lives and also made the worst pollution of it. Now how are you as a person is doing your share? Don't look to big companies if you don't looked at yourself and also realize that you are also a contributor to  this mess. I know I have, yet I keep on looking at all that I can to be more of a water solution contributor than a waster, which does not sound right, yet it calls for action from us to do what WE can do. We do have people who can work on those large cases. And if everybody in the world would follow this. Everything good will be followed. Like water that flows, we must also be moved to change our world.

You know the drill, yet you might be hesitant or just plain lazy...
like stagnant water, bugs will hatch there and ruin your life...

Blah Blah Blogs: XXX Day!

Ten Ten Ten

In Japanese and Chinese  Ten means Heaven, so what would happen on the date that is a triple ten. It is also a 'rare' event as this date only happens once a century. Now as many people believe that it is also a lucky day. So I also made a list of what made this day a date to remember.

  1. MY PLURK KARMA REACHED 100  - at long last, after a year and 3 months I have finally reached Karma 100 on plurk, after all the karma downs, i'm so happy to reach this stage.
  2. THE MESSAGE AT THE MASS WAS SO INSPIRING- yes, thank you, and praise the Lord... the words the priest wants us to speak always. This will make our lives happy and also meaningful... beautiful isn't?
  3. I ATTENDED A COSPLAY EVENT-otaku expo reload, stayed until the end with cosplay pals, such a fun day indeed!
  4. I'M  PREPARING FOR MY COMIC LAUNCH - insiprations keep on rushing as I prepare for the launch of krisis komix on November 13, hope you will be there too.
  5. I'M  GETTING READY FOR THE SEMBREAK - but first, finals. Its really pressuring me, but I can manage. Anticipation for the break consoles my weary heart.
  6. REFORMATTING MY NETBOOK TO JOLICLOUD- my laptop just crashed with the old OS but I am trying Jolicloud, cool but takes to long to boot.
  7. LOOKING FORWARD TO MORE READERS- I noticed the increase in readers in the past month, hope to have more this months and the future too.
  8. I REALIZE TO FINISH THE BOOK I WAS WRITING- its already 4 years but I am not yet finished with the book I was writing. Now I felt inspired, and sembreak is coming time to get to work.
  9. I HAVE PLANS FOR THE NEXT CONVENTION - I am aiming to dress up as a vampire, no not Edward Cullen, but Slayer from Guilty Gear XX. He is so refined yet deadly!
  10. EXCITED ABOUT TEN (THE EVENING NEWS) ON TV5 - I just got news, or notification that is about TEN, hope that they will back on the air. I am a proud TENer and hope to meet my fellow TENers in the coming days(?), or weeks perhaps.

Ten-ten-ten gave me a lot to think and to do for this week and for the following days ahead. I hope to attend to all of them and also meet my goals. It was not really a day of instant luck, but of things to ponder about that will actually lead me into opportunities and also make me a better person. So how was your ten-ten-ten?

The Galleon Trade is here in Manila!

The Philippines, the First ASEAN Culture Capital 2010–2011, will host the International Día del Galeón Festival 2010: Connecting Continents. With a 250-year history that connected four continents, the Galleon Trade was an essential trade route that served as a vessel for cultural exchange.

The trade involved 250-year-old ships called galleons, which were built by expert Filipino seafarers out of Philippine hardwood.

"The whole world knows about the Silk Route, the Amber Road, but what about the Galleon Trade? For more than 250 years, the Philippines was the center of the world, with Asian, European and Latin American goods being traded on its very soil," the NCCA said.
It added, "Via the galleon, Mexican chocolate was brought to Asia, Spanish music was brought to the Philippines, and the world was introduced to Philippine abaca and flowers like the ylang-ylang."

Andalucia

A galleon named Andalucia is said to be the first vessel to have successfully gone around the world. Two hundred and fifty years later, a replica of the galleon sets sail for the Philippines in an effort to highlight the country's role in global trade and cultural exchange.

The new ship, built by the Fundacion Nao Victoria in Spain, will be docked at Pier 13 in Manila from October 6 to 9, 2010.
"Inside the galleon, everything is a replica from the 17th century, from the furniture to everything else. Everything was studied, we even tried to copy the commands (used by the ship's controls) from documents," said Fundacion Nao Victoria's Ignacio Fernandez in Spanish, as translated by Guadalupe Fernandez Morente.
He added, "When they get to see the replica, people will feel how people sailing in the galleon lived in the ship. We hope everybody can enjoy the galleon."
It will serve as the centerpiece for the first international Dia del Galeon Festival, which aims to "assess the impact of the Galleon Trade as a vessel of cultural transmission across the continents of Asia, Americas, Africa and Europe in terms of food, agriculture, arts, customs, knowledge and world views."
Relevance
Dia del Galeon festival director Cecile Guidote Alvarez noted that Filipinos have already expressed "much excitement and interest" over Andalucia's arrival, and is hoping that more people will take part in the events they have lined up this year.
"We want to recharge connectivity and relive history. We also want Filipinos to take pride in their heritage and creativity," she said, adding that they are also aiming for the "advancement of the welfare of Filipino seafarers."
Sen. Edgardo Angara, chairman of the Dia del Galeon festival, said, "We want to come back to these past centuries to remind ourselves of our rich history. Connectedness, that's what we're commemorating."

Asked about the relevance of the centuries-old galleon to modern-day living, Angara said, "The same exchange is actually taking place today, (only through different means)."
The Spanish community, meanwhile, has also commended the Philippines for spearheading the world's first Dia del Galeon festival.
Maria Molina, representative of the Spanish Embassy of the Philippines, said Andalucia serves as a "tool of cultural diplomacy" and "marvelous way to celebrate our past."

REEL DEAL: Resident Evil After Life

It was my first time to see the Resident Evil series in a movie house, because I always watch it in HBO or other movie channels (of course cuts are already applied) And I was anticipating a different kind of experience with this one as it said to follow the original plot from the game. Also for this version, it also incorporates the newest 3D technology for cinemas (however, the one I watched was not in 3D... too bad)

As I could see it, this one is kinda weak in terms of the plot. Not that I have known the origibnal story, but the other elements are so predictable and was too focused  more in the effects. Also a heartbreaking fact is there are a lot of scenes that one may notice to be too immprobable in reality and physics. The effect however was good and did justify the ambiance of a world filled with zombies.

It seems like a simple family movie plus a lot of bloody violence. Prepare your heart though, since it suspense at is was originally created. I'm currently confused if this may or may not have another sequel. The effort was good but we need more entertainment...
Deliberation time kids!

Movie summary in 3 lines: Plants vs Zombies!
Technical Effects 3 out of 5 stars
(Still decent technical effects, altough it puposely made slow motions to ephasize 3D effects)
Plot 1 out of 5 stars (I know what will happen in the first place)
Popcornmeter (the rating if this movie would make you hungrier while watching) 2 out of 5 stars (Do you want zombies with that?)
Acting and Actors 3 out of 5 stars (fair enough)
DVD worthiness 3 out of 5 stars (given you have a 3D TV)
Sequel worthiness 3 out of 5 stars (works fine with me)
Overall Rating 3 out of 5 stars (Kinda sad since it does have nice effects, but it really seems awkward with the plot, hope they learn from these mistakes)
