I've been awaiting for this one to happen knowing that Zia Quizon's talent should be showcased. A 2-year wait is a long time but many fans would patiently anticipate the launch because of the charismatic melody and pitch of Zia. With her first self-titled album gives a sample of what she can do, the second album promises a whole new experience that will still charm you from the first to the last track.
The first album contained a songs that were compared to Adele which they sound alike, but Zia would like to make her own style and the second album. With a great mix of OPM and original tracks to song covers but not the conventional ones got my attention and happy to review this album.
Under and Over - a mellow yet smooth song that has that jazzy vibe that keeps you on your feet and still feel very relaxed.
Pasakalye - the first single, now a popular song in radio stations which like "Ako Na Lang" speaks with people's personal experiences and even the language.
Kung Ayaw Mo Na Sa Akin - when I heard of the song, I did feel feel the intensity of the message, I feel like lying on my bed and cry. I hope this would be a movie or TV soundtrack soon.
On The Run - one of the tracks which has the rock feel blending with her melody makes it fierce in texture but still
Seven Nation Army - a cover of a song from the group, is another rock-inspired song that breaks the conventional pop song cover trend.
Bakit Hindi Ka Crush Ng Crush Mo - From the book of Ramon Bautista which was also made a movie of the same title by Star Cinema is a light and fun song giving life to the wacky ways of love.
Tulad Ng Iba - a collaboration with Gloc 9 is a theme for the anti-Bullying campaign and is indeed catchy and shares a experiential story telling of bullies and the bullied.
A Little Bit Of Lovin' - the song that bears the title of the album is Zia's way of proving that she can do a lot more than everyone expected. This song goes country and would make you imagine that you are in the wild west.
Masdan No Ang Kapaligiran - An original Asin track which has also been covered by Sarah Geronimo, but for her version has less diva factor and a more mellow laid back feel that I would go for in immersing with the message of the song.
Sweet Lovin' - I was quite surprised with the song as it has both English and Filipino lyrics, both complementing each other and actually sounded great. The most experimental in the album but effective.
I have to give the album 4.0 for innovation and veering away from the boundaries set by the people, coming from a family of singers and comparison is unavoidable, Zia has emerged into new heights with the album!
