The Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI) just celebrated their 168th anniversary of business with a lot of new things they look forward to, one of which is the recent launch of their latest flagship branch located in Mandaluyong.
Officially inaugurated as BPI Shangrila-Shaw branch and Preferred Center, the branch is located inside the Shangri La Plaza which is considered the in the heart of Metro Manila in terms of location. This also complements another branch located at the 5th floor of the mall which has serving a lot of customers in the area.
With BPI now moving towards more on digital solutions and transactions, they are also now making big changes starting from their logo which has a fresh minimalist feel. Then comes updates with the BPI app which gives a lot of options for customers including electronic money transfer which is very convenient. Though there are still other functions that are not commonly used, BPI encourages them to explore it which they can discover how practical it can be for them.
"This new flagship branch, like similar ones in Metro Manila, represents how technology and brick and mortar can be combined to enhance the customer experience. Today's Filipino customer wants and deserves more, and a modern branch like this one is one way that we can respond," said President and CEO Cezar P. Consing.
Innovative Banking Experience
"The two-floor multi-purpose events venue located in the branch's Preferred Center is what makes BPI Shangri-la Shaw unique compared to the other flagship branches," said Rally Jereza, Division Head for Northern Metro Manila Branches.
"Digitalization is about enhancing the client experience. This requires that we make the experience of our clients seamless as they move from physical branches to our digital channels, such as the mobile app and website. Our digital transformation journey allows for an omni-channel experience, with clients being able to start a transaction in one channel, and complete it in another," explained Jereza.
The Preferred Center also features a large video wall that can be used for occasions with banking machines also spread out that can help in processing transactions. The bank area meanwhile also has BEA (BPI Expess Assist) machines that helps in queuing by reducing the need to write on slips that can take time and could contain errors. All of these conveniently located near the main entrance of Shangri La Plaza mall.
COO and Segment Head, BPI Enterprise Services Ramon Jocson says "It's not just technology...it navigating though 'High Tech High Touch'. We need to be able to differentiate ourselves in terms of how we use technology not only that, but also how we communicate with our clients personally and physically. So that''s the digital transformation we are trying to do here. That is work we do everyday."
BPI Shangrila-Shaw branch and Preferred Center is the first in Metro Manila to stay open seven days a week, from Mondays to Sundays.
