It has been a tradition for the students of Ateneo de Manila Junior High School to set up a fundraising event called the Katipunan Fun Drive that helped in developing families and communities with various charitable opportunities which also shaped and developed the students in organizing events. For this year, the Junior High School Class 10 - Rodrigues will be having their own Katipunan Fund Drive called HORIZON.
Set on April 5, HORIZON – A Fundraising Concert for Hope at the Ateneo de Manila University (ADMU) covered court will feature performances by Adie, Sunkissed Lola, and Calista. Known as popular artists in their OPM genre, their music gives variety and energy to the audience and will be also anticipated by their fans in and outside of ADMU.
Led by RJ Nicolas and Mason Hernandez, along with their classmates in Grade 10 - Rodrigues, are working together to bring this concert which is impressive for students of their age. Guided by their teachers and parents, this collaborative work is not easy as it involves a lot of preparation, scheduling and execution and they are all committed to bring this concert at Ateneo.The P-POP girl group CALISTA, one of the headlining performers joins the concert with also new music wants to showcase this and their other songs for the concert. They recently launched their new single "Alas Dose" which they have performed in many guesting for TV, online and out-of-town events.
The beneficiaries of the Katipunan Fund Drive this year will be the communities in Boso Boso Antipolo city, and Sapang Palay Bulacan which were affected by recent calamities. They will also support the Jesuit missionaries with this event.The Katipunan Fund Drive (KFD) concert is also open to people outside Ateneo, and the venue can accommodate up to 2500 concert goers. And with the facilities inside ADMU, they can also be assured of food, beverages and security. There will also be a rave party happening after the concert adding more fun to the jampacked concert line up.
Setting up a concert that include popular names in the Pinoy music industry is already impressive, with the goal of raising funds for good cause is also a noble endeavor. This event can also make them the concert makers in the future with this experience. Kudos also to the artists that take part with KFD that despite their popularity, joins benefit concerts and collaborate with students.
