Mudrasta, Ang Beking Ina Brings Back The Joys Of Watching Filipino Movies

Halakhakan at hagalpakan, iyan ang narinig sa SM North The Block Cinema 3 noong August 18, 2025, during the advanced screening of MUDRASTA: Ang Beking Ina! The family drama-comedy brought together heart and humor, giving audiences the kind of feel-good entertainment that makes you laugh out loud and smile all the way home.

Among those who shared their joy after watching the film was veteran star Jackie Lou Blanco shared how the film brought back memories: “Ang sarap kasi parang panahon namin. Very 80s. It’s a feel-good movie. You just sit, watch it and enjoy its simplicity. It’s nice. I haven’t watched a movie like this in a long time. It’s very nice of Roderick to do something like this again, which he’s so good at.” Seasoned actor-comedian John Lapus echoed the sentiment, saying, “Nakakatawa nang bonggang-bongga itong pelikula na ‘to.” 

Meanwhile, singer-actress Jan Marini also couldn’t hide her excitement: “You can never have enough of Kuya Dick. Talagang classic, ‘di naluluma yung style of comedy niya. I’m just so happy finally he’s here.” And versatile entertainer Maey Bautista summed it up best: “Nakakatuwa na bumalik ang the classic Roderick Paulate.”

Leading the celebration was none other than Mudrasta herself, comedy icon Roderick Paulate, joined by his co-stars Carmi Martin, Awra Briguela, Raven Molina, Debbie Garcia, Sunshine Teodoro, Jenny Miller, Joel Saracho, and Mel Kimura. 

Completing the festivities were comedy personalities and fellow entertainers like Mitoy Yonting, Ralphe Austria, Mark Colanta, Maey Bautista, Mikee Imnida, Arvie Sierra, Tito Abdul and Marsy, Spit Manila, as well as CreaZion Studio Artists’ Alex Agustin and Meryll Soriano—who all came through to celebrate comedy’s big comeback.
