Intellectual Property Office PH Honors PascualLab & Partner Institutions’ 3 Landmark Invention Patents

The IPO honored PascualLab and its institutional co-patentees during the U.P. Technology Transfer and Business Development Office’s 10th anniversary last October 25.

The research team’s co-inventors, including PascualLab’s Head of Research & Development (Herbal) Reginald Philip Alto were recognized for the development of formulations employing plantsendemic to the Philippines, as well as methods of preparations that hope to provide enhanced nutraceutical solutions.

The Intellectual Property Office Philippines (IPO) Philippines recently granted three, exclusive patent approvals to Pascual Laboratories, Inc.’s (PascualLab) and its institutional co-patentees for novel compositions and formulations in nutraceuticals in a U.P. Manila ceremony celebrating the 10th Year Anniversary of its Technology Transfer and Business Development Office. The PascualLab Research & Development (Herbal) team headed by Reginald Philip Alto, and its institutional co-patentee were recently honored for exclusive patents for collaborative research on flora found in the Philippines, as well as methods of preparations studied and tested under the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) Tuklas-Lunas Program. According to the IPO (Republic Act No. 8923 or Intellectual Property Code), with these exclusive patents, the patentees, including PascualLab, have sole rights to the intellectual property for 20 years from the date of filing.

The achievement strengthens PascualLab’s intellectual property as well as its entire brand portfolio, which includes trusted household names such as Poten-Cee vitamin C, Ascof Lagundi, C-Lium Fibre food supplement, and OraCare Mouthrinse.
