20th Century Studios brings a new chapter to the thrilling, action-packed Predator franchise with the release of “Predator: Badlands” in cinemas starting November 5, 2025.
Set in the future on a deadly remote planet, “Predator: Badlands” focuses on Dek, a young Predator outcast from his clan, who finds an unlikely ally in Thia, a robot severed in half, as they embark on a treacherous journey in search of the ultimate adversary.
Not a stranger to the world of these ferocious species, Director Dan Trachtenberg, following the success from “Prey” and “Predator: Killer of Killers,” takes on the challenge with his third movie in the franchise as he shifts perspectives and puts the Predator as the film’s protagonist. Setting this film apart from its predecessors, "Predator: Badlands" is the first in the franchise that highlights the Predator as the protagonist of the film. Tranchtenberg highlights how he wanted to focus on giving the audience a better understanding of these intelligent creatures, “I certainly wanted to give people an experience that now focuses on the species and their culture. I wanted people to be able to find a point of connection to the bad guys of the universe. It's a harsh, brutal, clan-based culture. For the first time, we go to their home planet and see a bit more about how they exist, but there’s still a great deal of mystery there.”
As “Predator: Badlands” brings its audiences closer to the world and culture of the Yautja, lead cast Dimitrius Schuster-Koloamatangi (Dek) and Elle Fanning (Thia) look forward to the film opening the franchise to a new set of fans. "I think this is something people have been dying to see for a long time, and because this film literally exists because of the fans, I hope they’ll enjoy it," Schuster-Koloamatangi shares. "I’m so excited for fans to see it in a theater because it’s so big and epic. You want to go with your friends and talk about it," Fanning adds.Don’t miss out as the hunt officially begins in cinemas nationwide.
