What is much worse than a toxic boss? Probably getting stuck with him on an isolated island and relying on your survival skills with almost no resources and tools. 20th Century Studios presents Send Help directed by Sam Raimi is here showing this complicated scenario into a movie.
Starring Rachel McAdams and Dylan O’Brien, this suspense thriller brings office tension to a tropical island and the need to survive. McAdams is Linda Liddle, a hardworking employee whose goal is climb the corporate tower with loyalty and expertise on the business. On the other hand, Dylan O'Brien stars Bradley Preston, the son of the CEO who inherited the business yet looks down on Linda despite being an asset for the company. They both join a business trip but got into a disastrous plane crash and brought them to an uninhabited island.
Good thing is that Linda is a superfan of survivor and has acquired the skills in living in the wild even staring from scratch. From this, it tests the relations of the two and if the office hierarchy still applies to a survival situation for the both of them.
The film never runs out of conflicts between the two or with themselves. There are also some comedic moments to break the ice yet there is also that sliver of suspicion with every move they make. It was really entertaining with moments of tension and satisfaction plus the reveals heightens the fun and fear factor of the film.
It also brings the signature Sam Raimi style of suspense which fans would like to experience. There is also the question that if faced with the same situation, are we prepared for survival or we need to call to send help.
