Yes, the JD Set Tour 2011 is in full swing! It is time to give another good listen with a good drink of Jack Daniels in hand, as we hit the road over again for The Return of the JD Long Sets!
In the beginning there were 13 independent bands picked to join the JD Set. Via the bar gig series called The JD Long Sets, all the bands showcased their original compositions and performance prowess.
Fast forward to the present, from the 13 narrowed down to Jack’s Chosen 7, the second phase of the JD Set Philippines has now been launched last August 19 at the Eastwood Central Plaza, Libis, Quezon City. Kelevra, Blue Boy Bites Back, Paramita, Playphonics, Mr. Bones and the Boneyard Circus, Stories of Now and Jack Versus the Crab—collectively known as, Jack’s Chosen 7, vie to become Jack’s No. 1 through 100% fan votes. The top 1 band will represent the country alongside artists from Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia among others, in the Asia Pacific regional event of Jack Daniel’s in 2012.
The return of the JD Long Sets kicks off at 9pm last Friday, September 16 at Craft Pub and Grill at The Fort Strip in Bonifacio Global City. With 3 of Jack’s Chosen 7 performing and each with their distinct style to contribute to the tour, Kelevra ‘s alternative/hard rock, Playphonics’ edgy, moving and pop ethereal music and the playful pop punk of Blue Boy Bites Back.
Free admission! So bring your whole gang to greet the payday weekend with good taste.
