Named in honor of the Philippine retail magnate, the Henry Sy, Sr. Hall of De La Salle University is the first major building under the Centennial Renewal Plan, a long-term development master plan to rationalize the whole University’s campus setup and respond to the need for more space for research and learning.
The building was blessed on June 16, 2012 as part of the culminating centennial activities of the University. The Sy family attended the blessing.

The Henry Sy, Sr. Hall is a 14-storey modern and eco-friendly building which will house various academic service units, study areas, learning spaces, and select offices. It will also be the first academic structure that will be rated by BERDE (Building for Ecologically Responsive Design Excellence) upon completion.
It will also be home to the Learning Commons—a central hub that will serve as the intellectual crossroads for studying in the University. More than a repository of books and reference materials, the Learning Commons is envisioned to be a place of connection where the community members can relax, commune, and hold official university activities.
The hall features a concourse linked to other buildings and offers a security solution as it centralizes areas where public has access.
