REVIEW: Wuthering Heights - Whirlwind of Passion and Deception

Based on the novel of Emily Brontë, Wuthering Heights has been adapted numerous times yet the story still resonates to the conflicts of love, passion, and torment. Now adapted with Margot Robbie as Catherine and Jacob Elordi as Heathcliff, which also features a soundtrack from Charlie XCX, brings the story with a new style that blends the old period with some modern elements.

Magot Robbie's role as Catherine brings back her bold and seductive charm and paired with Jacob Elordi indeed made it feel like those passionate romance novels with descriptive sensual moments and also something similar to the 50 shades books. The cinematography shows a variety of lens of class, status, and values, paired with eerie yet effective score brought weight to the story.

Indeed it was full of passion, sensual moments, and tension yet it is not too explicit which lets the imagination run wild. The dynamics between the characters also play important roles to the fate of Catherine and Heathcliff which makes it intimate and interestingly weird.
