Since topping various streaming platforms and radio charts with their hit singles "Kathang Isip," "Ride Home," and "Maybe The Night," Ben&Ben has been a vital force in the local music scene, charting their own path with anthemic, folk-infused pop that brims with elegance.

Without releasing a proper full-length album since 2019, the nine-piece act has amassed more than 300 million streams on Spotify and Youtube combined, and headlined concerts and festivals here and abroad. Formerly known as The Benjamins, the indie-folk outfit has achieved critical and commercial success in less than 3 years -- a proof that they're in for the long run.

Nonoy Zuñiga Sings The Songs Of The Regions

It is no doubt that Nonoy Zuñiga has greatly contributed to OPM with his songs that are still relevant and sung by many in their performances and even competitions. Yet we wanted to do more for the industry which has been very good to him throughout the years.

Still active with concerts and performing, he has really embraced the entertainment business and keeps fans wanting more. Though he looks like a simple guy with his guitar, his musical talent is charming and soothing that is what many love with OPM right now. He started with posting acoustic covers that gained millions of views, he also writes his own music.

Drei is a graduate BS Travel Management at the University of Santo Tomas and also won Mr. Tourism and Mr. UST in the year 2016. Aside from writing songs or singing with his guitar, he also enjoys cooking, beatboxing and dancing.

PhilPop 2018 Concludes With A Better Definition of OPM

Creative, expressive, passionate

A young songwriter from Davao, Chud Festejo has a curious opinion for the popular children’s clapping game Nanay, Tatay. Why does the chant make the children sound demanding? Convinced that there is a bigger reality to be addressed, he started writing a song that will then win the hearts of the judges and the crowd of PhilPop 2018.

Nanay Tatay, written and performed by Festejo, was the winning piece that hailed him the Grand Champion among the ten finalists who competed during PhilPop Finals Night 2018 on December 2, 2018 held in Capitol Commons, Pasig City.

“Of course, happy. Kahit na sa 30 songs, andaming magagaling. Ngayon, I still can’t explain how I feel,” Festejo shares, acknowledging the tough competitors he had during the contest run. Festejo won the grand prize of P1 Million Pesos.

Celebrate The 90s Anthems At Solaire

Sweet, rock and a whole lot of bold, the 90s were an era of statement making music that shook the core and revitalized Philippine music. Hear the pulse raising hits in “90s Overload” happening on November 17, 2018 at The Theatre at Solaire.

“90s Overload reminisces the era when Original Pilipino Music (OPM) found its footing in the rock scene. The grungy, attitude-filled acoustics merged with the soulful lyrics that is normally the signature of our ballads were what made it appealing and relatable. The 90s music were statement makers which made them click with a wide audience then, and even with today’s younger generation,” says Solaire Resort & Casino’s Director for Entertainment Audie Gemora.

The concert will bring together the 90s most iconic band voices to sweep its audience onto its currents. Jek Manuel of IAXE Band, Cooky Chua of Color It Red, Lei Bautista of Prettier than Pink, Paco Arespacochaga of Introvoys, Perf De Castro of Rivermaya, Glenn Jacinto of Teeth, Wency Cornejo of After Image, Myra Ruaro of Put3ska, Naldy Padilla of Orient Pearl, Dodong Cruz of The Youth, Stephen Lu of Rizal Underground and Noel Palomo of Siakol will sing their most prolific songs to bring in the nostalgia tide after tide.

The Itchyworms Return to Singapore to Scratch an Itch

It has been almost a decade since The Itchyworms performed in the city-state of Singapore. The now-iconic Marina Bay Sands was still under construction, for one, and Universal Studios was probably still in blueprints.

The last time the band was there in 2008, they performed in a double bill with Marcus Adoro. First, to serve as his backup band, playing songs from his seminal solo album, Markus Highway, and second, to play their own songs. The night ended in an epic extended jam on old Eraserheads songs.

The years have only made the band’s wanderlust — itch, to borrow from their name — for Singapura that much more insistent. The hunger for the hawker holy grail that is authentic laksa is quite real, and so is the thirst for performing in front of new audiences, such as Singapore’s music-loving folk, whether expats or locals.

Fate Smiles On Mark Oblea

As a contestant on Pinoy Boyband Superstar, Mark Oblea was called the “Kwelang Bad Boy ng Bacoor.” But while it’s true that he got into his fair share of trouble when he was younger, he isn’t all bad. The truth is, under his leather jacket and tough demeanor beats the heart of a responsible, softhearted young man.

Case in point : when Mark was eliminated during the grand finals of the show, his first thought wasn’t for himself or the opportunity he lost. It was for his family. His burning desire to give his mother and siblings a better life was the main reason he joined the competition in the first place. “Sila talaga ang nasa isip ko the whole time na lumalaban ako”, Mark says.

His thoughts also went to his mother who had been a struggling single parent. Mark promised her he’ll take on the responsibility of being the breadwinner for their family. It was then that Mark decided to establish a showbiz career. He believed doing so was the fastest way to secure his family’s future. However, finding success as a performer proved to be harder than he thought it would be. Mark went on many auditions but he always came away empty-handed. He also performed whenever and wherever he could, booking gigs at town fiestas and the like.
