‘You’re worth the wait,’ Eric told by new lover

In last night’s episode of “My Husband’s Lover, Eric (Dennis Trillo) was late for his date with his new lover, Martin.  And so, he apologized to him. But Martin was neither offended nor disappointed by Eric’s tardiness. In fact, he assured Eric that it’s OK and told him, “You’re worth the wait.”

It seems that Eric has finally found his match – someone who can love him without apprehensions – in Martin. But such is not the case for Vincent, who despite his being married to Lally, still holds on to Eric. 

Last night’s episode was a continuation of Friday’s cliff-hanger.  Eric inquired with the condominium’s security personnel about the identity of the owner of his former condo unit. While that was happening, Vincent was hiding by the elevator and was trying to fight the urge to show himself up to Eric.  But when Eric left the building (the security personnel did not disclose anything to Eric), Vincent trailed him and before Eric could enter his vehicle, he called him. After having not seen each other for quite some time, their eyes locked and suddenly the memories of the past rushed in.

REEL DEAL: One Soul at a Time: Developing R.I.P.D.

Before Peter M. Lenkov wrote for hit television series such as 24, CSI: NY and Hawaii Five-0, he cut his procedural teeth on the series of graphic novels known as “R.I.P.D.”

First published in 2003, Lenkov’s popular four-issue series tells the raucous story of a police force comprising officers who are on their second tour of duty with the Rest In Peace Department. This team has the ability to traverse the real world and the netherworld to keep demons at bay and ensure that the balance of life and death—and the inherent safety of humanity—remains a guarantee.

Since Dark Horse Comics founder Mike Richardson first heard Lenkov’s pitch for this story about two rogue cops working on the other other side of the law in the late ’90s, Richardson has had an eye on adapting the otherworldly “R.I.P.D.” series of comics for the big screen.

My Husband’s Lover Continues To Break Records

GMA Network’s most provocative primetime drama series My Husband’s Lover has reached record-breaking audience results during the show’s first-ever promo tour in the Visayas region featuring lead stars Dennis Trillo, Tom Rodriguez, and Carla Abellana, together with Kuh Ledesma, Kevin Santos, Victor Basa, and Bettina Carlos.

The cast managed to attract throngs of supporters—a crowd estimate of 11,000 and 5,000 according to Gaisano Grand Mall Mactan and SM City Cebu, respectively—something very unusual to see on a weekday afternoon.

Carla, who plays the role of a martyr wife named Lally in the series, was deeply overwhelmed with joy upon knowing that majority of the crowd sympathizes with her character. “In fairness, love ko ang Cebu. Buti na lang team Lally sila at ang dami talagang posters and signages. Nakakatuwa kasi I know, not only are they my fans pero siguro marami sa kanila ang nakaka-relate kay Lally.”

A whole lot of art loot is at stake in the action-thriller “The Monuments Men” produced, directed and starred by George Clooney along with an all-star, high-caliber cast including Cate  Blanchett, Matt Damon, Bill Murray, John Goodman and Jean Dujardin.           

Based on the non-fiction tome by Robert Edsel, “The Monuments Men” takes us back to World War II when Western Allies protect heritage sites at risk during the war and recover art treasures from the Nazis. 

Linkin Park Rocks Back To Manila After 7 Years

After the long wait, Linkin Park finally came back to the Philippines with the Living Things World Tour which made Manila one of its stops. Held at the SM Mall of Asia Arena, the venue is definitely bigger than the past venue and broke the 7-year wait of fans (like me) to perform their hits which have became anthems of many fans.

Led by frontmen Chester Bennington and Mike Shinoda, Rob Bourdon, Brad Delson, Dave Farell, and Joe Hahn the band has been performing for more than a decade and has made hits such as "In The End", "Crawling", "Numb" to name a few. With the launch of their 5th studio album "Living Things", the world tour was also one of the activities fans anticipated.   

California Pizza Kitchen Celebrates National Pizza Day!

Global Restaurant Concepts Inc. (GRC) unveiled its first restaurant concept with California Pizza Kitchen (CPK) in the Philippines in 1997.  It was the first international franchise to be granted by the US pizza chain.  Sixteen years and ten branches later, CPK continues to dominate the premium pizza restaurant experience by opening two more outlets before the year ends.

CPK’s tenth restaurant begins serving in August at the ground floor of Eastwood Mall in time for the CPK-established celebration of National Pizza Day.  Since last year, the restaurant has started commemorating by giving away free pizza with every pizza order.  The one-day event has drawn up lines of diners outside each restaurant.
