Women on Wheels initiative aims to foster women empowerment

foodpanda logistics is celebrating Women's Month by granting livelihood training and packages for women from their Ka-panda delivery fleet.

The program was officially launched during International Women’s Day and is dubbed as Ka-pandaBIZ: Women on Wheels (WoW). The beneficiaries were selected to undergo training to start their own small business and receive a business capital worth Php 100,000. 

Ron Sanders, Rider Experience Lead of foodpanda logistics Philippines, emphasized the importance of supporting their delivery partners, particularly women Ka-pandas, towards success and improved livelihoods.

For this year's Academy Awards, there has been a number of great nominees (and snubs) which got the interest of many for this year's awards. Also, with Jimmy Kimmel hosting the awards, many hope that it will not be a dumpster fire like Jo Koy did. The big winner for this year is Oppenheimer, which bagged 7 awards, while Poor Things came in second with 3. Emma Stone also received her second Oscar for Best Actress in a Leading Role. Though some are divided with "The Boy and the Heron" win over "Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse" though both films do deserve their spot in the nominees.

With a lot of great moments and less to no controversy, the Oscars this year was indeed a success and another year of passing the torch to the people who creates great movies for our entertainment.

Acer named one of the World’s Top Companies for Women

Acer has been named one of the World’s Top Companies for Women in 2023, marking the second consecutive year of being recognized on the Forbes list. With this, Acer climbed from 291 to 259 and ranked 12th in the Semiconductors, Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Technology Hardware & Equipment category.

Forbes surveyed 70,000 women across 37 territories in partnership with Statista, and the evaluation criteria included workplace practices, gender pay equity, handling of discrimination, and equal opportunities.

The recognition reflects Acer's ongoing commitment to fostering an inclusive work environment.

In the Philippines, Sue Ong-Lim is the managing director of Acer, leading a workforce of 139 employees.

She started in the company as a Senior Sales Executive in 2009 until she was named Managing Director this year.
