REEL DEAL: How To Train Your Dragon 2 REVIEW

How To Train Your Dragon was critically acclaimed for its animation and story and also garnered blockbuster success. This led to a spin-off TV series How To Train Your Dragon: Defenders of Berk. This year, it will finally have its movie sequel How To Train Your Dragon 2.

Now on a time skip after 4-5 years, there have been a lot of changes in village of Berk which used to hunt dragon turned into a dragon sanctuary and also home of the dragon riders. Hiccup's adventures with toothless has made it possible and is now a grown up man with still tricks within his sleeves.

With the appearance of his mother Valka, who was pressumed dead 20 years ago, Hiccup discovers she has become a dragon master and was very surprized to see her son. The dragon riders Astrid, Snotlout, Fishlegs, Tuffnut and Ruffnut have also grown physically, but not maturely. Also Kit Harrington of Game of Thrones plays Eret, son of Eret, who is a dragon hunter.

I have to say the wait was indeed worth it as they made sure the story and animation would live up to the response of the first movie. With more details, movement, and texture, and also a moving plot and dialogues, I think I has exceeded expectations for a animation sequel.

How To Train Your Dragon 2 stars Jay Baruchel, Cate Blanchett, Gerard Butler, Djimon Hounsou, America Ferrera, Craig Ferguson, Kit Harington, Jonah Hill, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, T.J. Miller, and  Kristen Wiig.

How To Train Your Dragon 2 is showing in cinemas June 11! Distributed by 20th Century Fox Philippines.

Deliberation time kids!
