Former Laguna Governor ER Ejercito called out a presscon recently to state his stand on the current cased filed against him which was released last April 5, 2019. Along with his lawyer Atty. Larry Gadon, they came to present their side on the decision of the Sandigan Bayan's Fourth Division who ruled then-Pagsanjan Mayor ER Eiercito, then-councilors Arlyn Lazaro-Torres, Terry! Gamit-Talabong, Kalahi Rabago, Erwin Sacluti and Gener Dimaranan, and private respondent Marilyn Bruel, guilty each for one count of violation of Section 3(e) of the Anti-Graft and Corrupt Practices Act, with the accessory penalty of perpetual disqualification from holding public office.
ER Ejercito is currently running again as Governor of Laguna under the Hugpong Ng Pagbabago (HNP) which is led by Sara Duterte-Carpio. They blame their political rivals Ramil Hernandez and Atty. Rodel Paderayon as the one who pushed for the case against them. The issue was based on the Accident Protection Assistance Program for tourists and boatmen which was made by ER Ejercito when he was still the mayor of Pagsanjan, Laguna.
He showed a presentation with the changes of how it was added to the cost of the boat ride and how it meant to help in the welfare of both just in case of any accidents. He also stated that changes in fees went trough proper procedures which they said won't require to have public bidding.
After posting bail and a motion of reconsideration, they will have this appealed to the Supreme Court for a final decision. For now, they will all continue to campaign for the gubernatorial seat and continue all their legal battles.
On the lighter side, ER Ejercito also revealed that he is in talks of having his films on Online streaming sites like Netflix. With the growing number of content now streaming in these sites, he hope of having his films also be seen in these platforms. This includes his past movies which can be part of the content library or a possible collaboration for a new film that they will be also be pushing through.
For now he still prioritizes his campaign as he wanted to continue with his public service, as well as projects that he wanted to push through for the province of Laguna.
