FDCP Launches JuanFlix Mobile App

Capping off the 5th Philippine Film Industry Month (PFIM), the Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP) will officially launch the JuanFlix Mobile App on September 27, 2025, at Robinsons Place Manila.

Launched in 2020 as FDCP Channel and rebranded in 2022 as JuanFlix: The FDCP Channel, the platform now offers a curated selection of classic and contemporary Filipino films, alongside international titles.

“Ngayon, may sarili nang app ang FDCP kung saan puwede nang manood ng pelikula gamit ang cellphone sa abot-kayang halagang 49 pesos kada buwan (Now, FDCP has its own app where viewers can watch films on their mobile phones for just 49 pesos monthly),” said FDCP Chairman and CEO Jose Javier Reyes.

With the campaign tagline, “Nandito ang Kuwento Mo,” JuanFlix remains committed to sharing Filipino stories centered on community, education, and culture to a wider audience. 

FDCP And Taskovski Films Announce The Launch Of #Docsconnect Documentary Film Lab In The Philippines

The Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP) has partnered with Taskovski Films to launch the #DocsConnect Documentary Film Lab in the country, an intensive program designed to support Filipino documentary filmmakers. This program will guide 18 filmmakers through the early stages of developing 10 documentary projects, offering them unparalleled mentorship and training.

Filmmakers will receive expert guidance from international industry leaders, including Taskovski Films CEO and Founder Irena Taskovski, as well as documentary filmmakers Hubert Sauper and Alexander Goekjian. Over the course of five (5) Intensive days, participants will hone their storytelling, pitching, and production skills, while exploring the challenges of documentary filmmaking. The program will also provide a unique opportunity for a select group of students to observe the filmmaking process up close.

The #DocsConnect Documentary Film Lab is set to run from January 16-20, 2025.

FDCP and The Manila Times Partner for Sine Sandaan in TMT Online Streaming Platform

Amid the current pandemic, even the film industry has found it necessary to explore creative ways of sharing and continuing to thrive. The internet and online streaming, in particular, has been a significant tool for providing such platforms, as the industry continues to hold events while maintaining necessary safety protocols. With this, the Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP) led initiative ‘Sine Sandaan’ is now the latest to make use of online streaming, as FDCP partners up with The Manila Times Broadcasting Corporation (TMT) to launch the online movie streaming platform ‘Sine Sandaan on The Manila Times TV.’

It's Raining Awards At The 4th FDCP Film Ambassadors' Night

The Film Development Council of the Philippines continues to celebrate the Filipino filmmakers, production crew, creatives, and actors which have brought awards and recognition from various film festivals all over the world. Now on it's fourth year the FDCP Film Ambassadors' Night 2020 is like grand party for their contribution in flourishing Philippine Cinema to the international stage.

Led by Chairperson and CEO Liza Diño, she is very happy with the achievements of the films which expands the presence of Filipino films in known film festivals and also in various countries which also opens its doors for their movies. Most notable guest for that night include Presidential Spokesperson Salvador Panelo and DILG Undersecretary Martin Diño.

FDCP and NHCP Launch SineSaysay: Documentary Film Lab and Showcase

With its continuous aim to educate and empower filmmakers in the country, Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP) launched its latest program, this time on the documentary film format, with SineSaysay: Documentary Film Lab and Showcase. The first year of the program will take place in 2018 in partnership with the National Historical Commission of the Philippines (NHCP).
