Rest Assured Amid The Pandemic

It has been a wild start of the year 2020 for all of us. There were a lot of threats such as wildfires, natural calamities, and now a huge pandemic that we have not experienced in a hundred years. Most of us have been quarantined for a weeks and have adapted to many changes in life, while there are also frontliners who continue to provide what we need to ensure we stay at home and hopefully stop the spread of the virus.

As we have to embrace this temporary lifestyle of being in our homes, we tend to discover new things that we can actually do despite being indoors all the time. There are some businesses that let their employees work from home and still remain productive and keep the economy afloat, however there are also some things that we could not do since many offices and services have been closed.

Why Wait? You "KanDuu" It Now!

FWD Philippines gives you the confidence so you “KanDuu ” all the things you want to do, now imagine all the things you can do when you ’re confident and secured enough to accomplish them.

1. Jump off a plane and freefall, the wind on your face, your mind wide open.
2. Open your first solo exhibit or publish your first book.
3. Train, join, and finish a local triathlon or a marathon.
4. Nibble on freshly baked French macaroons you made yourself in a baking class in Paris.
5. Trek through the magnificent forests and high alpine meadows of Nepal, solo!
6. Quit your desk job to go freelance, full-time.
7. Explore the dive bars and architectural relics of Shinjuku ’s Golden Gai.
8. Turn your little passion project into an online startup.
9. Live in a far-flung community to film your first documentary.
10. Go wreck diving in the Coron.

They say you can do anything you set your mind to. And setting goals for yourself seems so fairly simple. You think it. You write it down. You affirm it, And you do it. But it ’s not always as easy as that, is it? Whether new to adulting or “adulting for a while now ”, people have responsibilities—bills to pay, work to deliver, a family to take care of, a future to secure —that often stop them from doing all the things they are passionate about. But who ever said you can ’t have it all?

When you want something so much, you have to be willing to do what it takes to make it happen including, and most importantly, financial planning. Saving up enough funds for a dream trip or to start a passion project is one thing. Securing yourself and those you love so you can go for it without a single worry is another.

Giving Filipinos the confidence to live life to the fullest, FWD Life Philippines (FWD PH), part of pan-Asian insurer FWD Group, recently launched KanDuu, a set of insurance products that covers you from death, critical illness, or accidents so you "Can Do" and pursue all the things you love.

Joyette Jopson Blazes In Victory At The North Pole Marathon

A few weeks ago, we bid good luck to Joyette Jopson on her journey going to the North Pole.  A Triatlete, and Ironman Champion, and most of all a FWD Financial Wealth Officer, she was the perfect candidate to represent FWD Philippines, women, and the country to one of the most challenging marathons on earth. She trained long and hard with the help of her "squad" that includes mountaineer Romi Garduce,  and Asian Games Gold Medalist Margielyn Didal.

The 42-kilometer FWD ‘78° North’ Marathon was held near the North Pole on April 16  at Longyearbyen, Svalbard located in the north most island group of Norway. It is known for its rugged, remote terrain of glaciers and frozen tundra sheltering polar bears, Svalbard reindeer and Arctic foxes. She joins the FWD Team Asia  that comprises of members coming from Hong Kong, Japan, Vietnam, and Thailand.

Cheers As FWD Philippines Introduces Filipina For The North Pole Marathon

It's the start again of preparing for the most challenging marathon on earth, the FWD North Pole Marathon with a participation of exceptional individuals that are physically capable to face the freezing temperatures of the arctic. FWD Philippines recently announces the sole representative of the country who is also the first Filipina runner to join the marathon.

The FWD North Pole Marathon will be held on April 9, 2019 and now on its 3rd year. Dubbed as the ‘World’s Coolest Marathon’ located at extreme 89° latitude North, it is no ordinary run as they take on extreme temperatures that even seasoned runners can't stand the cold. There is also the harsh and unpredictable weather that brings icy winds and slippery snow.

FWD and Humanity & Inclusion Together Helping PWD Find Employment

Pan-Asian insurer FWD and non-profit Humanity & Inclusion to help hundreds of young people with disabilities in Asia find employment

FWD Life Insurance, the most exciting insurance brand in the country, together with its partner Humanity & Inclusion (formerly known as Handicap International, an independent international aid organization), celebrated the beginning of the Forward Together project, helping young people with disabilities find employment opportunities in the Philippines and beyond.  Through the regional partnership initially announced by the insurer in the first half of 2018, both organizations will work towards advocating equal opportunities and empowering people with disabilities in Asia. With FWD Group investing USD 1million, the Forward Together project will train at least 380 youth with disabilities in the Philippines and Indonesia and help them secure sustainable employment or business opportunities.  “FWD Life Philippines aims to end the stigma that disability corresponds to inability,” FWD Life Philippines President and Chief Executive Officer Peter Grimes said. “Through our partnership with Humanity & Inclusion, we hope to provide a platform for people with disabilities to showcase their strengths and abilities. We want to encourage everyone to help create a future with a difference for people with disabilities with opportunities to become valuable and equal contributors to the community.”  “Developing countries are encouraged to invest in youth, but unfortunately, young people with disabilities are usually overlooked in employment and entrepreneurship opportunities,” said Bryan Andrew Marsalis, Humanity & Inclusion Regional Operation Coordinator. “That is why we are very delighted to have such strong support from FWD Group in our advocacy of improving the lives of youth with disabilities. Through this project, we will work with selected employers – including FWD Group – across the two target countries to improve their capacity to employ youth with disabilities.” “At FWD, we are committed to promoting social inclusion and active participation of persons with disabilities, and are very excited to kick start our work with Humanity & Inclusion,” said FWD Life Philippines Head of Marketing and Community Care Country Lead Roche Vandenberghe. “With the Forward Together project, we are enabling businesses and organizations such as ours to become catalysts for quality job creation.” FWD Life Philippines and Humanity & Inclusion celebrated the beginning of its Forward Together project with a media event, an interactive visual language activity, and escape room challenge participated by volunteers from both organizations as well as members of the media, held on October 17, 2018 at Century City Mall in Makati City.
