After all, Jackson and his fellow filmmakers Fran Walsh and Philippa Boyens, fresh off the success of the LOTR films, were already receiving fantasy projects left and right.

The new trailer of Universal Pictures’ new epic adventure Mortal Engines is now online. The film is produced by Peter Jackson (The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit) and based on the book of the same name by Philip Reeve.

Thousands of years after civilization was destroyed by a cataclysmic event, humankind has adapted and a new way of living has evolved.
