Dream Theater fans Is in For A Treat This 2023

Dream Theater fans in the Philippines, "May the Fourth" be with you, as the progressive metal band Dream Theater is in for a treat this 2023.

Dream Theater, comprised of James LaBrie, John Petrucci, Jordan Rudess, John Myung, and Mike Mangini, were in the middle of a sold-out world tour in support of their last release, Distance Over Time, and the 20th anniversary of Scenes From A Memory when a global pandemic brought the world to a stop. The musicians found themselves at home with LaBrie in Canada and the rest of the group in the States. As fate would have it, they’d just finished construction on DTHQ (Dream Theater Headquarters), a combination live recording studio, rehearsal space, control room, equipment storage facility, and creative hive. With LaBrie in Canada, he initially wrote with the band via Zoom on a monitor in DTHQ. In March 2021, he flew down to New York, quarantined himself, and recorded his vocals face-to-face with Petrucci. The album, A View From The Top Of The World, ultimately threaded together lean and uncompromising hooks with tried-and-true technical proficiency.

Dream Theater bound for Manila with their "Top of the World Tour" Concert

DREAM THEATER, an American progressive metal rock band composed of James LaBrie (vocals), John Petrucci (guitars), Jordan Rudess (keyboards), John Myung (bass), and Mike Mangini (drums), will be performing live at the Smart Araneta Coliseum for the "Top of the World Tour" concert on Thursday, May 4, 2023. The show starts at 8 p.m.

In 2019, the two-time Grammy nominated quintet embarked on a sold-out tour in support of both “Distance Over Time” and the 20th anniversary of “Scenes from a Memory” planned to stretch well into the next year. Nevertheless, a Global Pandemic foiled those plans. The musicians found themselves at home with LaBrie in Canada and the rest of the group in the States. As fate would have it, they’d just finished construction on Dream Theater Head Quarter—a combination live recording studio, rehearsal space, control room, equipment storage, and creative hive. It proved to be a Godsend for recording, Pandemic or not.

Austin Mahone Concert In Manila This October

Chart-topping pop R&B artist Austin Mahone is set to return to Manila live on October 22, 2019 at the New Frontier Theater. The much anticipated one-night-only show in the Philippines next month follows a series of sold-out concerts in Madrid, Osaka, Yokohama, Guangzhou, and Shanghai.

In 2011, Mahone started posting YouTube videos of himself performing song covers by artists such as Justin Bieber, Bruno Mars and Jason Mraz. The viral content created an impact significant enough to land him a high-profile deal with Cash Money Records, the label home of Drake and Lil Wayne. Mahone subsequently released his first single 11:11, followed by Say Somethin’ and Say You're Just A Friend. This unblemished hit streak lead him to debut on the road as the opening act for Taylor Swift's Red Tour and headline a series of major shows for MTV's Artist To Watch. The Secret, Mahone’s first EP, soared to No. 5 on the Billboard 200, along with crowd favorites All I Ever Need and Mmm Yeah featuring Pitbull which reached No. 2 on the iTunes Chart and Top 20 on the Billboard Pop Songs Chart.

Chvrches Headline The Big Dome

Third time’s the charm for Glaswegian synth-pop trio Chvrches as the band returns for their biggest headline show ever in Manila happening on August 13 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum as part of their Love Is Dead 2019 Asia Tour.

Crafting songs with notable synths and edgy hooks, Chvrches combine their roots in Glasgow’s indie community – the group features former members of alternative rock bands with a love of chart-friendly pop. Lauren Mayberry, Iain Cook, and Martin Doherty made an immediate impact on the music scene in summer of 2013 with the bittersweet-yet-anthemic debut album The Bones of What You Believe, and later found ways of bringing an extra sheen to their music without sacrificing its depth.

Chvrches’ critically acclaimed third and latest album, Love Is Dead, just marked its first anniversary last May since its release, but it continues to break worldwide streaming records. The band reclaims the No. 1 spot on Billboard’s Top Rock Albums and Alternative Albums charts ruling both rankings for a second time. The trio scored their No. 1 on each tally, following the chart-topping debut of preceding album Every Open Eye, which also opened at No. 1 back in 2015. Tracks Get Out, Miracle, and Graffiti concurrently reign on the Hot Rock Songs chart, which blends streaming, radio airplay, and digital sales. Love Is Dead is Chvrches’ first album to feature outside production, with Greg Kurstin (hitmaker for Adele, Kelly Clarkson, P!nk, Sia, Foo Fighters) having produced a total of nine songs. When Chvrches began creating the record, they only had one definite plan. “We wanted to sound more like a live band,” recalls Iain Cook. “We’ve always felt like a rock band and all three of us have long histories in rock, so it was inevitable we’d eventually turn in that direction.”
