New Categories Added to Readers Digest Trusted Brands 2017

For nearly two decades, the Readers Digest Trusted Brands (RDTB) Awards honored the brands, companies and services that consumers believe in the most.

This year, as the market continues to become more diverse, the Trusted Brands survey adds six new categories to reflect the changing habits of the consumers and to give recognition to the brands they support.

Among the new categories are Bakery/Pastry Shop; Dog Food; Remittance Center; Pawn shop; Coffee Shop/ Café; and Optical Shop.

“For the past 19 years, the Reader's Digest has approached ordinary consumers to ask their opinions on what brands of products and services are important to them.  The addition of these new categories is a reflection of how the market has changed and to acknowledge the new brands,” said Sheron White, ‎Reader's Digest ‎Group Advertising and Retail Sales Director for Asia-Pacific.

Mike Enriquez, Jessica Soho, Toni Gonzaga, and Manny Pacquiao Named Most Trusted Personalities by Readers Digest

Multi-awarded news anchor and veteran radio host Mike C. Enriquez, adds another distinction to his illustrious career after being named as the Philippines Most Trusted Radio Presenter at the recent Readers Digest Trusted Brands 2016 awarding ceremony.

“I heard it was the first time they gave out this award so I am very honored, Enriquez told media after receiving his award.

“Being called “Most Trusted” is very humbling since this one is from the Reader’s Digest Survey, which is in itself a very trusted award giving body. This is a result of a survey conducted from among its readers and not an award that you can apply for. They just send you a letter one day to inform you that you have been named by their readers as the one they believe in most,” he said with pride.

Readers Digest Trusted Brands 2016: Honoring the Companies Filipinos Believe In the Most

What is the mark of a good business?

Is it the consistent increase in sales; the continued accumulation of assets or a financial statement that will keep investors smiling?

Five or ten years ago, these figures may be enough, but in the current business landscape, there is one other factor that has become critical in building a strong foundation-- Trust.
TRUST has become a “high-value” currency that is accepted globally outweighing the value of any monetary conversion. Gone are the days when people just look at the lavish office buildings when choosing their banks, on shiny new equipment of service centers or rely on commercials and celebrity endorsers when deciding which brand to purchase.

Readers Digest To Honor The Philippine's Most Trusted Brands

Trust. It takes years to build, seconds to break, and forever to repair. Our lives are fueled by trust and our decisions, whether personal or professional are influenced by the confidence we have in these relationships.

In an era where too much information has its benefits and disadvantages, trust is that one factor that remains constant. Once trust is established, it becomes an instinctive response – the consumer buys the brand without so much as a second thought because they can relate to it as "their" brand.

For consumers, the mark of a trusted brand is a seal of excellence, and a relationship that goes far beyond price, trends and marketing campaigns.

For business, trust is the ultimate vote of confidence. A forward-facing measure imbued with expectation, promise and satisfaction and a solid reputation of distinction.
