MILO shatters record headcount with 42,214 runners in Manila race

Panique outlasts Raquin in heated bid for 37th MILO Marathon finale post

Elite runners Eric Panique and Luisa Raterta blew the competition away at the 42K division race of the 37th National MILO Marathon Manila qualifying leg Sunday at the SM Mall of Asia Grounds, Pasay City. A record-shattering 42,214 runners joined the country’s premier footrace, marking the largest number of participants in a single race in the history of the MILO Marathon.

Along with other 42K qualifiers, Panique and Raterta each took home a cash prize of Php 50,000, a trophy and a coveted spot at the National Finals in December for their respective victories. To increase the level of competition this year, MILO will sponsor this season’s MILO Marathon King and Queen to the 2014 Paris Marathon next April.

OMG! Awards 2013 elicits more excitement and support from dedicated fans

The third edition of Yahoo! OMG! Awards has been living up to its theme, Stars Rock, Fans Rule, as it received over four million votes from fans in just three weeks.  Filipinos have been actively voting for their favorite stars on the Yahoo! OMG! Philippines’ popular entertainment news site since nominees were announced last June 4. 

The launch was held at URBN Bar & Kitchen and was attended by celebrities and nominees such as Jasmine Curtis Smith, Eula Caballero, Tim Yap, Karylle, Jane Oineza, the Sassy Girls, Arci Munoz, Eleven O One, Philia and Abra.  One of the highlights of the evening was the announcement of the first OMG! Media Magnet who went to international singing sensation Charice Pempengco. 

Kate Delos Reyes, Yahoo! Philippines’ Country Manager and Country Editor said, “We are very pleased for the rapturous response of the fans based on the number of votes the OMG! MUSIC LYF: Living Things World Tour: Linkin Park Live in Manila 2013

As you all know that I am a fan of Linkin Park since high school and even until now, I still love their music which is indeed a cut above the rest. And with the launch of their latest album "Living Things" under Warner Records last year also spells another world tour happening this 2013. It has been years, since their last concert here in Manila. So LP fans will definitely attend this rare event that has now become a dream come true to the "soldiers".

Linkin Park is a rock-alternative band behind the hits "Crawling", "In The End", "Lost in the Echo", "Castle of Glass" and many more. I will definitely be in this concert!


The concert will happen on August 13, 2013 - 8:00pm, at the Mall of Asia Arena, Pasay City.

DepEd invites the public to witness the GO! Education Finale this weekend

How far have Department of Education and the private sector gone in improving the country’s public school system?

This will be answered during the Greater Opportunities! (GO!) Education Finale exhibit slated on Feb 9 – 10 at the Music Hall, SM Mall of Asia.

The event aims to create public awareness on the accomplishments thus far of the department especially in improving teacher quality, reform in the basic education curriculum through K to 12 as well as initiatives to fill up education resource gaps to achieve zero backlog by the end of 2013.

Korean superstar PSY coming to Manila for a one-night-only show, Feb 16

The much-awaited concert of 2013 is finally coming as Korean pop superstar PSY is set to perform for the Filipino audience. Sharing the stage with the country’s comedy concert queen AiAi delas Alas with special guests: comedy duo Jose and Wally, the show titled PSY Live in Manila! will be on February 16, 2013 8:00 pm at SM Mall of Asia Arena. This show is presented by That's Ntertainment Production, Ovation Productions and Music Management International.

Dubbed as “Tanging Family Valentine Show,” enjoy a post-valentine treat with a worldwide phenomenon GANGNAM STYLE, which has over a quarter of a billion views for his amazing viral music video, choreography which soared to the top of the charts and spawned myriad copycat videos by everyone across the worldwide web.

MUSIC LYF: The Gangnam Show in Manila Moved To February

To clear speculations, the so called "end of the world" date has nothing to do with the phenomenal Korean superstar Psy which was scheduled to have a concert on December 20, 2012 at the SM Mall of Asia Concert Grounds. The Gangnam Show: Psy Live in Manila is rescheduled to February of 2013 due to logistical issues. The concert features Psy plus many local acts  like Anne Curtis, Vhong Navarro, Chocoleit, Pokwang, Pooh, K Brosas, Wally Bayola and Jose Manalo, Ate Gay and Ms. Ai Ai Delas-Alas that will make it a big Gangnam style party. However due to this reason, we may have to wait until next year to have that big dancing party here, but rest assured that Psy will be here and ready to rock Manila.

MUSIC LYF: KEANE Live! In Manila: Strangeland Tour


This October 2nd, be ready as British alternative rock band KEANE welcomes you into their Strangeland through their Manila concert at the SM Mall of Asia Arena. 

KEANE achieved mainstream success with the release of their debut album, “Hopes and Fears” in 2004. Lead singles “Somewhere Only We Know” is one of the greatest hits of 2004. The album sold more than nine million copies worldwide, and won a Brit Award for Best Album in 2005. In addition, the band also won the Brit Award for British Breakthrough Act, voted by listeners of BBC Radio 1. Success continued with their second studio album, “Under the Iron Sea,” which topped the album charts in the UK and debuted at an impressive No.4 on the US Billboard 200 chart. This album marked the transition from piano-driven songs in their first album to more progressive, sophisticated music, again without using guitars. GMA Network, ABS-CBN and TV5 come together for ‘Dolphy: Alay Tawa’ TV special


In a rare occasion, broadcasting giants GMA Network, ABS-CBN and TV5 will take part in the production and simultaneous airing of a two-and-a-half-hour TV special to pay homage to the late Philippine King of Comedy, Dolphy.

The TV special dubbed “Dolphy: Alay Tawa,” was an idea of one of Dolphy’s sons, director Eric Quizon, who had thought of coming up with a show that will not only have an entertainment value but also be a fund-raiser of sorts to continue the legacy of his late father who had helped his fellow through various foundations.

Sports and Rock Stars assemble at SM Cinema’s e-PLUS Teen Assembly

SM Sports and entertainment celebrities attended and performed during the biggest Saturday gimmick of the year at the e-PLUS Teen Assembly, held last September 1, 2012 at the MoA Arena.

New and existing e-PLUS members got a chance to rock out at a special party organized by SM Cinema for their loyal patrons. The party features music spinned by DJ Lady Trinity, with performances by various popular OPM bands such as the V-Fort Band, General Luna, Never the Strangers, Sandwich, and Up Dharma Down. This special party also featured numbers by dance squads from various schools. Guests also got a chance to take home treats and freebies from the e-PLUS partner booths present at the event.

Another highlight of the event was the first official public appearance of the new Philippine Futsal Team, the Muzangs. The Muzangs include Azkals player Misagh Bahadoran, Daniel Matsunaga, among others. Multi-awarded actor and comedian Roderick Paulate will be joining other entertainment industry veterans Jolina Magdangal, Ricky Davao, Philip Salvador and Gina Alajar in searching for the next ultimate protege via the GMA-7 artista search "Protege: The Battle for the Big Artista Break."

Although the search is slated to begin airing in July, as early as now, each of the mentors have already spent days screening tens of thousands of hopefuls coming from all over the Philippines.
