Experiencing China with Sun Life Macaulay Club

China indeed was best experience that happened this year thanks to Sun Life, and we got on this trip with amazing Sun Life Financial Advisors who each have their own story to tell of their journey and being part of the Macaulay Club.

This journey started with the launch of the Sun Life Play For Life board game which I find very fun and exciting and wished that many could play this as it can also help in expanding financial literacy and making sound investments for the future.

They had a grand media launch with their brand ambassadors like Piolo, Sarah and Matteo and had an exciting game in which the grand prize is the trip to China (Beijing & Shanghai), and in a surprising turn of events, we won the grand prize.

Sun Life Philippines and Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf (CBTL) are teaming up to bring coffee breaks to a whole new level, as it infuses financial literacy in a fun and interactive way in a series of events.

Dubbed “Coffee and Play,” the game sessions will be held at select CBTL branches and will feature Sun Life’s original board game, Play for Life: A Game of Choices, with versions specifically designed for employees and professionals, business owners, and Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs).

We have to admit that learning about finance and investments is not easy to learn and understand. But Sun Life just made something that can make it fun yet educational as it is made into a board game called "Play for Life: A Game of Choices." This unique game integrates the fun of playing and taking up roles with the goal of reaching financial goals but also has risks that can hinder or stop them in winning in life.

The game was officially launched on July 6, 2024, at Conrad Manila with Sun Life brand ambassadors Piolo Pascual, Matteo Guidicelli, and Sarah Geronimo, who also shared their insights about how important it is to make informed decisions for a brighter future.

Sun Life reigns as the No. 1 life insurance company for the 13th year in a row

Sun Life of Canada (Philippines), Inc. continues to reign as the no. 1 life insurance company for 13 consecutive years after garnering PHP 55.79 billion in Total Premium Income.

This is according to the 2023 report released by the Insurance Commission based on submitted unaudited Quarterly Report on Selected Financial Statistics. In the same report, Sun Life also ranked no. 1 in Total Assets with PHP 306.33 billion, and Net Income with PHP 8.79 billion.

“Being consistently no. 1 means that our clients continue to trust us to help them secure a brighter future for themselves and their loved ones,” Sun Life Philippines CEO and Country Head Benedict Sison said. “It is a privilege to be their chosen partner in their financial journey, and we will continue to honor their confidence by serving them with excellence.”

This milestone comes on the heels of Sun Life’s 129th anniversary, making it the first and longest-standing life insurance company in the Philippines. As a further testament to its dedication in delivering excellence, the company also received accolades from regional award-giving bodies recently. Sun Life was recognized as one of the Industry Champions of the Year at the Asia Corporate Excellence and Sustainability (ACES) Awards. Likewise, it was also bestowed with the Corporate Excellence Award at the Asia Pacific Enterprise Awards (APEA) for demonstrating effective talent mobilization and organizational capability that deliver consistent business results while remaining aligned to the company’s purpose.

Legacy of Light Village Basketball Court Made Possible Through Sun Life and Beyond Sport with a Special Appearance by Donny Pangilinan

A community in Calauan, Laguna called Legacy of Light Village became the beneficiary of a partnership project of Sun Life Philippines, Sun Life Financial-Philippines Foundation, Inc., and Beyond Sport which is a refurbished basketball court for the community. The village was developed by Sun Life Foundation years ago as a relocation project together with ABS-CBN Foundation and has become a great candidate for the development projects by Sun Life as part of the “Hoops + Health” program. 

The program aims to leverage the power of basketball to encourage physical activity and promote healthier lifestyles by renovating basketball courts across Asia. This PHP 40 million partnership with Beyond Sport will continue to build/renovate facilities like these to provide quality sport centers to different communities in the country.

Your Next Big Gig is Here: A campaign to invite Gen Z and Millennials to become Sun Life Financial Advisors

Today’s generations are at the forefront of embracing the gig economy, and this is revolutionizing the traditional employment landscape. Fueled by a desire for flexibility and independence, millennials and Gen Z are increasingly turning to gig opportunities or side hustles.  

This was the insight that inspired Sun Life Philippines’ recently launched campaign, “The Next Big Gig”. The campaign aims to invite today’s generation to venture into becoming a financial advisor as their next side hustle.
