TOYCON 2023: Celebrating Twenty Years Of Play

From its humble beginnings to becoming the annual spectacle in the Philippine events landscape  that everyone looks forward to, the Philippine TOYCON is recognized as the biggest pop culture  convention in the country. This year, TOYCON PH celebrates its milestone 20 years as a  destination event, also making it one of the longest-running pop culture events in the Asian region.

With each iteration, the Philippine TOYCON has gotten bigger and better, establishing itself as a  cultural juggernaut and one of the most anticipated events of the year, as thousands of con-goers  take part in a weekend of fun, nostalgia, and fabulous finds!

With this year’s TOYCON happening from July 7-9 at the SMX Convention Center Manila, this  year’s edition promises to raise the bar again for pop-culture events as it returns back to form as  the collectors’ mecca and an ultimate destination for pop-culture fan engagement. TOYCON this  year will feature almost a hundred toy exclusives from partner exhibitors, with top toy brands like  Funko, Lego, Bandai, Hot Toys, Pop Mart, JoyToy and many others. We will be featuring the top  toy designers in the country, from the region and from the US. World-renowned toy designers  like Quiccs, Wetworks, Creon Chknhead, Arman Kendrick and more, add to the hype with their  limited edition TOYCON releases

TOYCON PH 2022 – The Big Show Returns For A Grand Homecoming

For long-time TOYCON fans, it’s no secret that Voltes V holds a special place in this convention’s heart. This iconic robot has never missed a spot among the collage of colorful characters on our poster since the very start, and on special milestone years it has even become the central symbol of our show, with the huge Voltes V statue in 2016 when we first moved the convention to the SMX in Pasay, the fleet of Voltes V ships gracing our 2017 merchandise, and TOYCON’s launch of the Tamashii Nations Super Electromagnetic Machine VOLTES V, Bandai Spirits DLX Soul of Chogokin in 2020.

It’s been too long since the community of pop culture fans and collectors have come together since the pandemic struck. For many, this long drought without any gathering to celebrate our common love for all things creative, innovative and collectible has gone on way too long. And so with the effects of CoVid winding down, we just cannot wait to see you all, our fans and loyal community, finally come home.

A Celebration Of TOYCON's 18th Year In The Asian Pop Culture Scene

The Philippine Toys, Hobbies and Collectibles Convention, better known as TOYCON PH, is celebrating 18 years of serving pop culture enjoyment to its fans both local and international. It is, simply put, the longest-running and premiere pop culture event in Asia.

Early this year, TOYCON PH presented a fresh visual identity, through a new logo, to cater to the growing millennial crowd, and also attract visitors from all over the world with a global perspective to promote the Philippines as the leading pop culture playground in Asia, that showcases Filipino creativity, innovativeness and talent through toys, games, entertainment and digital content.

More Exciting Things at TOYCON Philippines and POP LIFE FANXPERIENCE 2017

ToyCon is just a few days away and we are excited on what will be happening on the most anticipated pop culture event of the year, TOYCON is now beyond toys and collecting geeky stuff, bringing together in one roof  pop-culture fanboys, cosplayers, gamers and comic book nerds. But this year, TOYCON heads off for uncharted waters and borrowing from a certain famous space TV show, “Boldly goes to where no CON has gone before.”

The Philippine TOYCON, now on its 16th year, began an exciting partnership with Pop Life Entertainment, a leading international creative house and brand development company, last year to create the ultimate Fan experience for the Filipino pop-culture fans.

ToyCon Pop Life FanXperience 2016 was the biggest celebration of all things associated with pop-culture such as toys, games, movies, cosplay, anime and collectibles. FanXperience made ToyCon the staging-ground of the "ultimate fan experience” for the local fan base who got to get up close and personal for the first time with international celebrities like Kristian Nairn from Game of Thrones and Dean Cain from the Adventures of Superman.

TOYCON Philippines 2015: The Country’s biggest pop-culture event celebrates its 14th Year with Battlefields of Play

Those of us who grew up in the pre-social media era or even the pre-electronic gaming age remember a time when “Play” was associated with the outdoors.  We fondly remember halcyon days of setting up toy soldiers in the hilly terrain of our own backyard or lining up our Star Wars action figures to go into battle with our He-Man toys in the wonderland of our childhood bedroom.

Those were the days, when our imagination knew no limits and the fantasy characters of comics, cartoons and movies were our genuine playmates; ready to defend and protect us, by the Power of Greyskull or by the all-encompassing Force, forging into battle with the evil hordes of Cobra, the Legion of Doom or armies of Decepticons.

We never knew it, but our childhood was fraught with glory in our Battlefields of Play.  And this is what we celebrate once again, as a clarion call sounds to dust off our toys and wage war once again with glee and joy in our hearts.
