EU Center for the Arts presents WALANG SUGAT in a free admission performance on February 4

In celebration of Far Eastern University’s 98th founding anniversary, 

the FEU Center for the Arts (FCA) proudly presents WALANG SUGAT, a historic and more than century old sarswela written by Severino Reyes with music by Fulgencio Tolentino.

This special production features arrangements and additional music by Josefino Toledo, an FEU Outstanding Alumnus.

Under the direction of Alegria O. Ferrer from the University of the Philippines College of Music, the production brings to life one of the most beloved works in Philippine theater. 

The musical direction will be led by Roijin Suarez, Artistic Director of the FEU Chorale.

The cast is composed of both current students and alumni from the FEU Chorale, FEU Theater Guild, and FEU Guides, highlighting the University’s diverse artistic community.

Tumindig at Umibig…PA MORE! Philippine Educational Theater Association (PETA) brings back Rody Vera’s award-winning hit comedy musical, Walang Aray, a witty and hilarious reimagining of Severino Reyes’ classic zarzuela Walang Sugat, from August 29 to October 12, 2025, at the PETA Theater Center.

Walang Aray had a total of 58 shows in 2023 alone, having staged two runs in just one year due to insistent public demand. The musical also dominated the 2024 Gawad Buhay Awards, winning eight major awards, including Outstanding Musical, Outstanding Ensemble Performance for a Musical, Outstanding Stage Direction for a Musical (Ian Segarra), Outstanding Book of a Musical (Rody Vera), Outstanding Original Score (Vince Lim and Rody Vera), and Outstanding Choreography (Gio Gahol). Walang Aray also bagged the major awards in the female performance categories, with Neomi Gonzales winning the Female Featured Performance in a Musical award and Shaira Opsimar taking home the Female Lead Performance in a Musical.

Witty, Hillarious Musical Romp 'Walang Aray' Returns For A Three-Weekend Run

The all-original Filipino musical, Walang Aray, a whip-smart, side-splitting reimagining of Severino Reyes’ classic zarzuela Walang Sugat, returns for a limited three-weekend run at the PETA Theater Center from October 6–22, 2023.

Witty and hilarious from start to finish, Walang Aray is a spoof and tribute to the iconic zarzuela. 

The show is a mashup of old and new, tackling the themes of love, nationalism, and patriotism with a mix of catchy tunes, pop culture references, irreverent humor, witty wordplays, and one-liner jabs that will leave audiences in stitches.
