Kim Ji Soo Unleashes His Inner Rock Star in Bicol

Not a lot of people know that apart from being an award-winning actor, Kim Ji Soo is also a talented singer. The Korean star showcased his singing skills at the recent Musika Para sa Bikol: Himig ng Bayanihan, a benefit concert held in Legazpi City last December 6. 

Rocking high-cut leather boots by internationally renowned footwear brand Palladium, plus stylish pieces from designer Iñigo Villegas, Ji Soo unleashed his inner rock star singing crowd favorites like Coldplay’s “Yellow” and The Calling’s “Wherever You Will Go.” He also had a duet with model and recording artist Bey; they sang the popular hit song “APT,” complete with choreography, much to the crowd’s delight.

PLDT-Smart fully restores telco services in Bicol region following series of typhoons

PLDT wireless unit Smart has fully restored mobile services in the entire Bicol region after it was battered by two strong typhoons this month. Super Typhoon Rolly was the first to pummel the region early in November with strong winds and torrential rains.

In a tweet, MVP Group chairman Manuel V. Pangilinan attributed this to the engineers and technicians who worked tirelessly to ensure that communication lines will be back in no time. “Our brave linemen of Meralco and PLDT-Smart have been working 24/7 to restore power and telco services in the Bicol region after a series of typhoons hit the Philippines,” Pangilinan said. 

World Vision deploys response team to super typhoon-stricken Bicol provinces

In the wake of supertyphoon Goni (local name Rolly), child-focused humanitarian agency World Vision dispatches team as it firms up its response to initially assist 10,000 families or 50,000 individuals in the affected communities of the ravaged Bicol region, south of Manila.

"Thousands of children and their families are now displaced and taking shelter in evacuation centres. Our goal is to assess their condition, be on the ground the soonest possible and support the local government's initial relief efforts as necessary," shares Ajab-Aram Macapagat, World Vision's Humanitarian and Emergency Affairs (HEA) director.

Field staff based in the Bicol provinces namely Albay, Camarines Norte and Camarines Sur continue to coordinate with local government offices for its rapid assessments as they look into immediate and expressed needs of the people affected.

Pancho Piano's Hagod Exhibit Is Now On Display At Okada Manila

Bicolano Artist Pancho M.Piano has proven his artistry in visual arts throughout the years.  Known for his award-winning works locally and internationally, his works speaks for itself and draws appreciation and clients. He is known for his works which reflects Bicolano life, festivals and culture. Drawn from his experience of the places he had been to, the paintings has the charm of nostalgia  for Filipinos and introduces the Pinoy culture to foreigners.

Recently he opened a exhibit at Okada Manila titled Hagod featuring paintings made in recent years. Hagod by definition is stroke which defines the artworks made of different styles of strokes and themes. With some follow a colorful approach that catches attention.  The exhibit are opened in May 24 displayed at the Coral wing until June 23.
