Justin Theroux is Garmadon, the Worst Guy Ever in "The LEGO NINJAGO Movie"

Justin Theroux (The Girl on the Train, TV’s The Leftovers) lends his voice to Garmadon aka The Worst Guy Ever, in Warner Bros. Pictures' all-new, big-screen event, The LEGO NINJAGO Movie, (now playing in Philippine cinemas).

The baddest warlord of all time, Garmadon has red eyes, sharp teeth, and four arms. He rides a giant robot shark mech that walks. Can smell fear. He likes to fire his employees…from a volcano. Proud to bear the title of Worst Guy Ever, Garmadon is always trying to take over Ninjago City by attacking it over and over. But why? Perhaps there is something there – or someone – with whom he’s trying to reconnect.

REEL DEAL: The LEGO Ninjago Movie

This is actually the second LEGO movie for the year where in we had the LEGO Batman Movie early this year. Like the LEGO movies, it aims to be comedic and creative as possible. The LEGO Ninjago Movie is derived from the toy series of the same title which is also called "Masters of Spinjustu".

Playful in nature, yet the film has a different feel compared with the first LEGO movies. The Ninja team is composed of  Nya, Zane, Jay, Cole, Kai, and Lloyd who are sworn to protect the city of Ninjago, The team are expert martial artists, bad-ass mech pilots, and also attends school when the city is not on the brink of destruction.

Jackie Chan also joins the movie providing martial arts expertise with his team along with the animators. He also voices Master Wu, who is the mentor of the Ninja team. Justin Theroux is Garmadon the main villain and the father of Lloyd, the green ninja.

If you watched the TV animated series, you will enjoy this one as it is filled with humor, nostalgia and fast-paced action. I really liked the Ninja Mechas which are in my wishlist for Christmas. Thus, the movie is great marketing tool as well.

Evans, Theroux, Ramirez: The Men of "Girl on the Train"

Luke Evans (“Fast & Furious” franchise), Justin Theroux (“The Leftovers”) and Edgar Ramirez (“Deliver Us from Evil”) provide the masculine presence in the female-centric tale, “The Girl on the Train” from Paramount Pictures. The film also stars Emily Blunt, Rebecca Ferguson and Haley Bennett.

Based on Paula Hawkins’ bestselling novel, “The Girl on the Train” is directed by Tate Taylor (“The Help”) and adapted for the screen by Erin Cressida Wilson. In the film, Rachel (Blunt), who is devastated by her recent divorce, spends her daily commute fantasizing about the seemingly perfect couple who live in a house that her train passes every day, until one morning she sees something shocking happen there and becomes entangled in the mystery that unfolds.

To cast the two key male roles was just as crucial, according to producer Marc Platt. “It’s interesting to be involved in a film that’s so female-centric,” he says. “Usually, it’s the guys who are more complicated and then there’s the ‘girl’ role, and our challenge here was to develop characters that wouldn’t just be the ‘boy’ role in a film about the women. The story is also very much about the men.”
