At the time, Ray and Cobb apprehended a suspect, Marzin, who was an informant during a counter–terrorism investigation while the nation was gripped by fear. Due to his importance in that plot and the fact that his confession was extracted under questionable means, Marzin was eventually released and Ray lost sight of him…until now. Ray returns to Boston and must confront his past, including Claire (Kidman), with whom he had a working relationship and unrequited love. Not like the usual thriller movies which focuses more on the killing blood and gore, it disturbs one to the core with the mystery and imagery shown in the film. As a grieving family Stoker is joined by a mysterious uncle Charlie (Goode), things gets more clearer and complicated at the same time.
It does not also keep the cryptic clues to deep for viewers to know what is going on, but it leaves the audience in a stalemate on what will happen with all of the story and the characters, how they would react, or what will happen eventually.
