"Moana" Breaks Animation Record, Grosses P85.68-M in 5 Days

Disney's “Moana” found out “how far it'll go” at the Philippine box-office – and far it went with an opening weekend gross of P85.68-million in only five days.

The sea-faring adventure also broke the record for the all-time biggest opening day gross for an nimated film last Nov. 30 with a rollicking P24.9-million, surpassing the sales of last year's “Minions” at P22.9-million.

This was announced today by a spokesman of Walt Disney Studios Philippines.

Jay-R Get Big Hollywood Break

King of RnB Jay-R has just added another feather to his cap.

His single, L-O-V-E, from his most recent Elevated album, was chosen to be part of the soundtrack of an upcoming Hollywood romantic comedy, The Bounce Back, starring Shemar Moore, Bill Bellamy and Nadine Velazquez.

"It's a dream come true for me. Any artist would love to be in a soundtrack that's part of a Hollywood movie," exclaimed the ASAP Soul Sessionist crowd favorite.

"Yes, this is the first time my music will be part of a Hollywood movie." Jay-R flew to Los Angeles last weekend to attend the movie's red carpet screening to be held at the TCL Chinese Theater, Hollywood Blvd., on December 6.

A new one-sheet art forUniversal Pictures' pyschological thriller “Split” – the latest film from writer/director M. Night Shyamalan – has just been unveiled. The poster shows cracks in the extreme close-up image of James McAvoy's character suffering from split personality disorder.

The film stars James McAvoy (“X-Men: First Class,” “X-Men: Days of Future of Past”) as Kevin, a man who abducts three teenage girls who suddenly realize that Kevin is one of 23 personalities.

Synopsis: While the mental divisions of those with dissociative identity disorder have long fascinated and eluded science, it is believed that some can also manifest unique physical attributes for each personality, a cognitive and physiological prism within a single being.
