REEL DEAL: Beauty and The Beast REVIEW

Tale as old as Time... is probably the most iconic statement from a Disney Animated film Beauty and the Beast which I really enjoyed when I was young. Now after decades after it was launched, they went with a live-action movie which has been long anticipated by fans.

Years before, it has been revealed that Emma Watson will play the role of Belle and everyone was excited including myself. Then news about the project was also been awaited by fans. As it draws near its release in 2017, they are looking forward to the box office success of the film because of the raves.

As it is largely based on the 1991 animated version, which also got a nomination for the Academy Awards for best picture - a first for an animated film, Beauty and the Beast retained its playlist of unforgettable songs plus some new ones which are also good. There are some changes made to earn its identity apart from the animation. As revealed by the director, there was indeed the "gay moment" but it was so minimal yet trivial to notice. But what I liked most is the scenes that answered my questions that I have with the cartoon version. Take note, it could also be linked to another Disney movie.

Everything, Everything tells the unlikely love story of Maddy, a smart, curious and imaginative 18-year-old who due to an illness cannot leave the protection of the hermetically sealed environment within her house, and Olly, the boy next door who won’t let that stop them.

Ryan Reynolds Back with "Deadpool" Writers for New Thriller "Life"

Deadpool himself Ryan Reynolds stars in Columbia Pictures' new terrifying sci-fi thriller Life as astronaut Rory Adams, an engineer and specialist in space walking. “This script had such a degree of reality and a feeling of constant tension,” says Reynolds, who stars alongside Jake Gyllenhaal and Rebecca Ferguson.

The film reunites Reynolds with his Deadpool writers Rhett Reese & Paul Wernick and his Safe House director Daniel Espinosa. “It begins with an air of discovery that turns to a tension that permeates the whole film as we learn more and more about this thing that we’ve put on board the ISS,” he says.

Rebecca Ferguson Must Contend with an Alien Creature in "Life"

Coming off The Girl on the Train and Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation, Rebecca Ferguson now stars as a feisty scientist in Columbia Pictures' terrifying thriller, Life.

Also starring Jake Gyllenhaal and Ryan Reynolds, Life is about a team of scientists aboard the International Space Station whose mission of discovery turns to one of primal fear when they find a rapidly evolving life form that caused extinction on Mars, and now threatens the crew and all life on Earth.

Dax Shepard Vows to Serve and Bro-Tect in "CHIPS"

Dax Shepard (The Judge, This is Where I Leave You) capably multi-tasks as actor, producer, writer and director of Warner Bros. Pictures' new adult action comedy CHIPS.

Shepard plays Jon Baker, the oldest rookie to ever join the California Highway Patrol, CHP for short. As his supervisor points out, Baker may not seem like an obvious candidate for the job—that is, until his fellow recruits see him ride.

Clearly, “The Baker” is still a force to content with on the road, but, says Shepard, “As an X-Games motocross competitor he had sponsors and fans; he had the money and the glory and the great life. That’s all over now. He’s had about 20 surgeries, broken a lot of bones, and he’s not in the best physical shape. He’s in a transition period.”

REEL DEAL: Bhoy Instik REVIEW

In the recent Sinag Maynila Film Festival 2017, there has been buzz about one of the film entries which included in the festival. Directed by Joel Lamangan, Bhoy Instik prides itself with a cast of great actors, a unique story and movie experience for its viewers.

Leading the cast is Raymond "RS" Francisco, one of well known commercial directors and also the Presdient of Frontrow International, plays Bhoy Instik who is a gay con man with a mysterious past. Ronwaldo Martin (Coco Martin's brother) plays  Marlon who is also a con man who cross paths with Bhoy which led to both of them getting involved in crime together.

Being criminals, their actions is unacceptable, however they also have their own redeeming moments with the reasons why they do it and how they were led to their predicament. They also got involved with the big time criminals who are on the higher food chain.

With the name like "Bhoy" I would associate it to gangs and mobsters like Boy Tumbling, Boy Golden and Asiong Salonga, Bhoy Instik is a new face in the modern world which many can relate to. The issue of drugs and extra judicial killings are also inserted into the plot which has been relevant to current events.

Levi’s Orange Tab: The ‘jeans with the famous fit’ is back

Ladies’ Orange Tab jeans is based on the
‘70s designs, but with better stretch,
 remastered for today’s taste.
A Levi’s pair of jeans is usually marked by its red tab, a feature that was first sewn onto the left side of the right back pocket of the 501 jeans way back in 1936. But did you know that Levi’s was noted for another tab color in the 1960s?

A time of cultural, social and political changes, the 1960s saw the emergence of the counterculture generation that tried to break away from mainstream ideals in various ways.

For instance, to project a sense of fashion individualism, this generation ripped, tailored, embroidered, and added fabric to their jeans, for literal and figurative flare.

For the ladies’ Orange Tab jeans,
pairs feature double fell inseam,
wide belt loops and scoop and coin pocket.
To support the lifestyles and personalities of these rebels, Levi’s introduced the Orange Tab collection, an original take on street-style influences.
