A Mother's Day Message from the Hatchlings of "The Angry Birds Movie"‏

In time for the Mother's Day celebration this Sunday, May 8, Columbia Pictures has shared a special message from the hatchlings of “The Angry Birds Movie.” Watch the clip here at https://youtu.be/kEY5T7p6YMM.

In the 3D animated comedy, “The Angry Birds Movie,” we'll finally find out why the birds are so angry.

The movie takes us to an island populated entirely by happy, flightless birds – or almost entirely. In this paradise, Red (Jason Sudeikis), a bird with a temper problem, speedy Chuck (Josh Gad), and the volatile Bomb (Danny McBride) have always been outsiders. But when the island is visited by mysterious green piggies, it’s up to these unlikely outcasts to figure out what the pigs are up to.

Comedians Josh Gad, Danny McBride Breathe Life to "Angry Birds"‏

Hot off voicing the emotion Fear in the Oscar-winning “Inside Out” and starring in the hit comedy “Trainwreck,” actor Bill Hader now takes the role of the porcine principal, Leonard, in Columbia Pictures' new adventure comedy “The Angry Birds Movie.”

Leonard is the leader of the pigs, the one who launches the birds’ beef against the pork. Proud, egomaniacal, and vain, Leonard’s a real pig, so no wonder that he ruffles Red’s feathers a bit.

“Leonard is super charismatic – so charming that he wins over the birds straight away,” says director Fergal Reilly. “Bill created a voice that had authority, but also charm – a showman personality. Bill has a velvety quality to his voice – warm and super funny – so when Leonard arrives on Bird Island, he wins the birds over effortlessly.”
