Adil & Billal: Two Hip Guys Direct "Bad Boys for Life"

To helm Columbia Pictures’ new action adventure Bad Boys for Life, producers Jerry Bruckheimer and Chad Oman brought aboard two young filmmakers, Moroccan-born Belgian directors Adil and Bilall (Black, Gangsta, FX’s Snowfall) who themselves personify the Bad Boys vibe.

Oman recalls how he and Bruckheimer became aware of the talented partners. “About four years ago, we screened a movie called Black, an action-crime drama about gang warfare in Brussels, which Adil and Bilall had directed, and we loved it. The film had so much edge, texture and beauty. It’s very emotional but also intense. We loved their work on it, and always kept them in mind for a new Bad Boys film.”

A Modern Hero's Real-Life Story Unfolds in "Just Mercy"

Michael B. Jordan (“Black Panther,” the “Creed” films) and Oscar winners Jamie Foxx (“Ray,” “Baby Driver,” “Django: Unchained”) and Brie Larson (“Room,” “Captain Marvel”) star in Warner Bros. Pictures’ “Just Mercy,” an inspiring drama that brings one of the most important stories of our time to the big screen.

(Watch the film’s newest trailer at http://bit.ly/JustMercyMainTrailerPH.)

Award-winning filmmaker Destin Daniel Cretton (“The Glass Castle,” “Short Term 12”) directed the film from a screenplay he co-wrote, based on Bryan Stevenson’s bestselling memoir.

“Just Mercy” is based on the powerful and thought-provoking true story of young lawyer Bryan Stevenson (Jordan) and his history-making battle for justice.  After graduating from Harvard, Bryan had his pick of lucrative jobs.  Instead, he heads to Alabama to defend those wrongly condemned or who were not afforded proper representation, with the support of local advocate Eva Ansley (Larson).  One of his first, and most incendiary, cases is that of Walter McMillian (Foxx), who, in 1987, was sentenced to die for the notorious murder of an 18-year-old girl, despite a preponderance of evidence proving his innocence and the fact that the main testimony against him came from a criminal with a motive to lie.  In the years that follow, Bryan becomes embroiled in a labyrinth of legal and political maneuverings, as well as overt and unabashed racism as he fights for Walter, and others like him, with the odds—and the system—stacked against them.

Son's Persection Becomes a Mother's Ordeal in "Richard Jewell"

Clint Eastwood’s suspense drama “Richard Jewell” serves to finally reveal one man’s truth, one man who, after 88 agonizing days—not one spent in jail—understands what it is to be guilty until proven innocent.

One of the filmmakers’ driving forces in bringing Richard Jewell’s story to the screen was that his mother, Bobi Jewell—who went through those same 88 days at his side—wanted her son’s story told, his name cleared of any wrongdoing, his heroics at long last memorialized.  When she learned it would be Eastwood at the helm, and then Hauser in the role, she felt Richard was in good hands both behind and in front of the camera.  Her dream would soon be a reality.

In the film, Smith and Lawrence’s characters Mike and Marcus, certainly have their work cut out for them. Their prey – and vice versa – is a beautiful criminal overlord from Mike’s past, Isabel, along with her strong-willed and lethal son.

myxRADIO Launches on World’s Largest All-Original Live Audio Platform Dash Radio

Back in 2018, TechCrunch quoted Dash Radio founder Scott Keeney or DJ Skee, a well-known DJ with stints on LA’s KISS-FM and Sirius XM, as saying, “(On the streaming side with Apple and Spotify), there’s not going to be room for much else. But when it comes to radio, it’s the wild, wild west.”

Keeney started Dash Radio, an internet radio platform, with $2 million seed funding in 2014, then raised $8.8 million in 2018 after it reached 10 million monthly listeners. While everyone online was focused on live video, Dash Radio concentrated on live audio.

Today, Dash Radio is the largest all-original live audio platform in the world, with over 12 million monthly listeners, 80 stations and over 500 DJs and shows. Dash Radio has over 50 distribution partners that include all mobile devices like the iOS and Android, smart speakers like Amazon’s Alexa and Sonos, car companies like Honda and Jaguar, smart TV platforms like Apple TV, Chromecast, Pluto TV and more. Celebrities and entertainment brands like Snoop Dogg and Kylie Jenner have stations alongside the UFC and Insomniac Group. One of the biggest music festivals in the world called “EDC or Electric Daisy Carnival” livestreams exclusively on the Dash Radio platform. They have multiple studios which include storefronts on Hollywood Boulevard in Los Angeles, Empire State Building in New York, downtown Atlanta, and will be launching Nashville soon.
