Cruella REVIEW - Another Villain Redemption Story?

Disney is really testing the public with experimenting on villain origins stories which could make us forget their evil roles in past films and love them because of their backstory. We already have Maleficent and got two movie from it, which probably converted many and erased her wicked role in the Sleeping Beauty animated film. Now we got another villain now getting her history with Cruella.

Indeed Cruella De Vil made a mark to be the most fashionable antagonist in the Disney universe, and we did not know her origins because we already had too much Dalmatians to focus on. But will this be another successful strategy to empathize with them?

I did like their casting for the film especially the two Emmas, Emma Stone and Emma Thompson. Both outstanding actresses with many acclaimed movies, playing Cruella and the Baroness, It felt like one of the best confrontational conversations in recent movie history. The tension is there and sometimes you want to root for both of them depending on your mood. Plus the highlight of the fashion battles/invasion is what we would like to experience in cinemas (if ever they would be open).

Disney·Pixar’s “Coco,” a multi-generational story about the power of family relationships, features characters from the Land of the Living, and their loved ones who’ve moved on to the Land of the Dead. Joining aspiring musician Miguel, voiced by Anthony Gonzalez; charming trickster Hector, voiced by Gael García Bernal; and musical icon Ernesto de la Cruz, voiced by Benjamin Bratt; are a host of colorful characters and the voice talent behind them that bring both worlds to life. Directed by Lee Unkrich (“Toy Story 3”), co-directed by Adrian Molina (story artist “Monsters University”) and produced by Darla K. Anderson (“Toy Story 3”), “Coco” opens in U.S. theaters on Nov. 22, 2017.

“These parallel worlds couldn’t be more different,” said Unkrich. “One is the Rivera family’s charming and hardworking hometown of Santa Cecilia, and the other is the vibrant, rich land where loved ones go when they’ve passed. ‘Coco’ introduces characters from both worlds on the eve of Día de los Muertos—one extraordinary night when a living boy named Miguel gets a glimpse of the other side.”

Young Actors Lend Voices to "The Good Dinosaur"‏

The heart of Disney-Pixar's new family adventure “The Good Dinosaur” is the friendship that develops between Arlo and Spot—two characters who begin the story at odds. They don’t share a language and—at least at first—have little reason to come together at all. But thanks to a life-changing journey, Arlo and Spot find common ground and a relationship that will change them both forever.

"The Good Dinosaur" -- A Coming-of-Age, "Boy" and "Dog" Story‏

In a world where dinosaurs never became extinct and humans roam the wild, Disney-Pixar's “The Good Dinosaur” features a simple, relatable story in which an Apatosaurus named Arlo makes an unlikely human friend.

“It’s the story of a boy and his dog—only in our story, the boy is a dinosaur and the dog is a boy,” says director Peter Sohn.

“It’s also a coming-of-age story,” adds Sohn. “Arlo is afraid everything. But his father, Poppa, is always there for him, encouraging Arlo to step out of his comfort zone, to confront his fears, to make his mark.”

Animated Short "Sanjay's Super Team" to Play in Front of "Good Dinosaur"‏

Continuing with the beloved Disney tradition of playing animated shorts before the main feature, Disney-Pixar's upcoming “The Good Dinosaur” will be preceded by the new animated short film “Sanjay's Super Team” when the former opens in Philippine theaters on November 25. Watch a clip of “Sanjay's Super Team” at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=222ztGhX4SE).

Be Part of a Heartfelt Journey in "The Good Dinosaur"‏

Disney•Pixar’s "The Good Dinosaur" asks the question: What if the asteroid that forever changed life on Earth missed the planet completely and giant dinosaurs never became extinct? Pixar Animation Studios takes you on an epic journey into the world of dinosaurs where an Apatosaurus named Arlo makes an unlikely human friend.

“From the moment Arlo is born, he’s afraid of the world,” says director Peter Sohn. “He’s fun-loving and determined; he’s got a lot of fire when it comes to his desire to help his family. But he’s scared. His fear holds him back.

“From the beginning, Spot is the opposite of Arlo,” continues Sohn. “He’s tenacious, brave and an animal in every sense of the word. It’s the story of a boy and his dog—only in our story, the boy is a dinosaur and the dog is a boy.”
